I'm so peed off with the person doing my cake topper. I'm getting married in 3 weeks from today. She initially told me that I would receive the topper 6-8 weeks before the wedding. I have been contacting her for the past 2 weeks trying to find out when it'll be posted. She doesn't answer the phone or phone back - all communication seems to be through f book. When she does respond it is always excuses that she'll post it by the end of the week, this then turn into not being able to post for some reason so it goes out in the next post. She says she'll send a photo as I wanted a photo of my topper to go on my favours, but never seem to get the photo. I have paid her £65 and I am so concerned that I'm not going to get it.

Got a response through f book - apparently it was posted today - she has the photo but cannot attach it? Still not feeling any better about it. Guess we'll just have to see - just hope it doesn't get "lost in the post".

I think it's mainly online orders she does - was recommended by somebody on here. She has a website and lots of followers on f book, she was very quick and enthusiastic in responding when first enquiring, but like other things I found with this wedding, went downhill after being paid. She said she in the beginning that she would send a photo before sending in case any changes need to be made, never got this, still haven't received photo of the actual topper that she promised 3 days ago. She always seems to have problems accessing her f book messages or being able to post photos - I don't know anyone who uses f book or email not to be able to send a photo. She thinks her f book is updating which is why she can't send a photo?!? I paid money straight into her bank account so there wouldn't be anyway of getting my money back either.
Feel so disappointed - fingers crossed it'll turn up and look like how I wanted it. It's meant to be me and my h2b looking like Princess Leia and hans solo :)

Nope no back up - think I'll have to look just in case - but I won't be happy as it cost £65. If she has posted it, it shouldn't arrive any later than the Wednesday even if she posted 2nd class.

Still not turned up - still not heard from her :( she is ignoring calls, f book messages, emails, text messages. She still hasn't sent a photo of proof of postage. Think I've been well and truly screwed which is a shame. Back to square one now with just two weeks to go :(

Will see what she sends over tomorrow - I'm guessing nothing, then I'll ask for a refund, whether I get it or not though is another story. I haven't sorted anything else out yet. I think with the timeframe that I have now it'll have to be something ready made the can be sent out quickly.

No it wasn't pay pal it was a bank transfer. I would rather she said that she didn't have time to do it rather than pretend she did. I'm kind of hanging on twiddling my thumbs hoping that it comes before being hasty are ordering something else. But I will have a look at those other people thank you - it's just hoping they can do a rush job. I'm delaying my favours because of this too :(

Also, does your account use a debit card? Is it a savings account, or regular?
Ask your bank for a chargeback form. Me and the Mister had something similar happen and we got our money back via this method. It's not 100% that you'll get it back, but it's more likely if they are smaller goods. (Say under £100)

I'm sorry things haven't turned out good.... Definitely demand a refund!!! Is this something that can be reported to Trading Standards? I'm not really up on regulations and things but something has to be done!! And the end of the day if she hasn't given the goods but kept your money, that's theft!!

I ordered a topper from clay toppers in may and paid at that time. I then tried to supply final details in July only to find the company had changed names. It took some research to find a new email address, and even more work to get a response. I was then promised a delivery date of 3rd week in August, then the end of August, then 19th September. She even told me it had been dispatched 1st class on 19th September. I have contacted her twice since then, both messages have been ignored. The most recent one asks for delivery within two weeks ( getting married this month) or a refund. Looking at this thread I will not hold out hope though I may ty and pursue the issue if she fails to comply. Avoid!!!!
This is from 2 years ago and seems a few people have had very similar issues

If you look at their website the most recent feedback posted by customers was from 2010. Nothing recent at all. Their F@ceb00k is full of people wanting to know about their orders and them giving out excuses. (No internet/computer access, surgery, family issues.)
Definitely a person who needs to start fixing how they work.

If your account uses Visa Debit, it's been less than 120 days (And if it gets to that), I'd recommend contacting your bank and asking for ChargeBack. If they agree, send the maker the following letter by post to them. Get proof of postage as well as photocopying the letter for yourself. Though there is also an overall cut off point of 540 days for Visa chargeback from the date of the transaction that you need to be aware of before you send it. You will also need evidence of their agreements, etc with you. So be sure to print out conversations between both of you with dates and other details. (Like where she agreed upon the price and how long it would take, etc.)

If your bank refuses to do it you can actually take this to the financial Ombudsman within 6 months.

Yes it is Tasha. And it has been excuses - obviously i understand if she has had surgery etc but don't ignore, and she should be giving the customer updates, it shouldn't be me having to constantly contact her. It was less than 120 days ago so if it hasn't arrived by Friday/Saturday I'll definitely be contacting my bank to see what I can do. I saw some other forums saying the same thing from a few years ago, wish I saw it before :( When I was looking I saw positive feedback on her page, she was really quick with responding, funny how that changes once they have the money. Grrr...so peed off!

Who making your cake kjl86? If your not doing it yourself maybe ask them if they make cake toppers and if they can do it? I'd ask sooner rather than later as she sounds like a dead end! Also I'll post on ur page a company I am getting mine from not sure if she can do it in 2 weeks but maybe if U explain what has happened she might be able to squeeze u in :)
