Hi everyone, I'm getting married in July, and we're on a budget so decided that the cheapest way to get bridesmaids dresses was online, now I found a little shop in UK which sells in ebay, but I have a bridesmaid who is refusing to let me order the dresses online. I tried to explain that I would order in size up n get alterations done near home but she's whining because she wants to go to shop & buy, now she's said she'd pay fir her dress but I feel obliged but just font have hundreds of pounds to spend on each bridesmaid & maid of honour & I just don't know what to do!! Any help greatly received xxx

I ordered my BM dresses from a UK shop that sold on ebay. I ordered my sister's dress first as she is the same size as me so I thought I could try it on to see sizing then if it's right order the other two. It came and is perfect so I got the other two, but the seller has a measurement chart on the listing which showed the measurements for each size, does yours have anything like this so that you could maybe measure your BM and know it is the right size? That might make her feel a bit better about it.
I was going to order my dresses in a size up but I decided to just order their normal sizes and they look like they will fit perfectly.

Who's wedding is it; yours or your bridesmaid? Sounds like it's hers 100% and you need to take back control.. If she doesn't like it then send her packing! ;)

Could you order 1 & get them to try it on? The china dresses I ordered have been fantastic quality & the fit has been good too. The only problem I had was that the colour was different to what I was expecting, so I've now paid for fabric swatches.
If after it arrives you love it & so do your other bridesmaids, but that 1 is still being a mare tell her to bog off!!! :)

My dresses were from ebay and they are lovely. Just as good as from a bridal shop but at a fraction of the price. All my girls love them. I agree with the others, tell her that it's not just her dress and that it's your wedding and you want to order those dresses

I would buy one to check the quality and sizing. Then invite them all round to see it and try it on if possible. I'm doing this with my girls in a few weeks and have shown them the dress beforehand online to see what they think. They all like it so are looking forward to trying it and one even offered to bring the shoes shes thinking of wearing. You might need to be more sneaky and not tell this bm you have the dress for them to see and do it as a surprise or she might say she cant come to force her way. X

What a cheek! Your wedding your way! If she still wants to be a bridesmaid she should respect your choices and support you not work against you.
Just tell her that you would appreciate her supporting you in your decisions to do with the wedding and if she can't do that then you'll understand if she no longer wants the honour of being a bridesmaid anymore.

Order the dresses from wherever you want! It's not her decision at the end of the day. Sounds like it's the "bridesmaids dress shopping" experience that she is sad about missing out on, which I understand, but it's not her place to tell you what to do. I ordered all my bridesmaids dresses online - 2 of them were from China. They are amazing quality (probably better than the UK ones) and only £35 each, and the girls love them! I made a point of having a 'girly day' when my girls tried on their dresses to make up for the lack of bridesmaids shopping fun lol x

I got our bridesmaid dresses on line. They were more than happy. For the younger ones I did get slightly larger in case they needed taking in but they were all perfect for the day.
Tel her that is the way you are doing it, if she don't like it then stuff it up her bum.
