Hi Lynsey, plan is to get it once we have been paid, and yeah he is starting to let the reality sink in a bit more now, we are still only talking about the wedding one night a week but I am sure that will change shortly. But we have agreed on an action planning, savings and budget so hopefully the only way is up now :)

Glad to hear you have it sorted now Stacey.

I've got venue, registrar, DJ, flowers and favours booked. We are getting married at the same hotel where the wedding breakfast will be held so don't need transport so that's one less thing to stress about. I said I wouldn't start looking at dresses until May next year but I'm started to get the urge to go look in the shops. Have any 2018 brides got their dresses yet? x

Thanks Kathleen, my original plan was to shop in May but my Nan wants to go after Christmas, I actually already have a dress but I'm not 100% sure if its the one it was a bargain price of the bay of e and had never been worn, no alterations with the tags still attached.

I ordered my dress about 2 weeks ago. Don't expect my dress to be delivered until next March at the earliest, maybe as late as May.

    LynseyH10, we share a wedding date! Mine's the 24th March 2018 too!

I thought I was doing well by paying the deposit on the venue and provisionally booking the registrar (can't book officially til 12 months before) but you all are putting me to shame. Is it too late to go dress shopping a year before-hand? I had been planning on going in March 2017 but it looks like so many of you have already done that....

I really have no idea what to do about transport. Dad is supposed to be speaking to a friend who a collection of cars but knowing dad he will forget. We were hoping to get the deposits on the big things this side of Christmas but it's September and we still have so much to look at. We may have to put some of the bigger things to on side until January/February time.

We have all our big things sorted. Don't really have much left to do now except pay everything off. So glad we have booked things now. I'm hoping to get a uni place next year so booked everything now and will put as much as possible away between now and September next year as that is when I would be starting uni if I get in. So that is going to be less stressful if we do what we hope to do xxx

The only advice I can give is be organised. Not just in your studying time but also your study area, house, personnel life. I studied with Th3 0U and I would basically carry a book with me. I studied on the school run, lunch breaks, while taking my oldest to dance, pretty much everywhere.

Any way on the wedding front...h2b has finally asked his brother in law to be best man. Could be interesting, he normally calls me shortie. Apparently his teasing is a good thing, it means he likes me.

No not at all Emma, I'm only 5ft so I was a little worried about the style of dress making me look shorter however the one I have chosen is a fitted corset top with a tulle skirt but the top is slightly longer so helps make me look a little taller. I have uploaded a few pictures on to my profile feel free to have a look. If you are worried about the style book an appointment and ask to try on a few different ones and that will help you find the right style for you.

Now we are getting somewhere! Florist is selected with deposit to be paid at the end of the month. I have let OH have control of picking the car but we have some guidelines in place so we get the best of both so to speak. Flower girl dresses have been selected and we have managed to get a top 5 photographers that we would like to hire so we can work the list down even more.

OH seems to want to discuss all the plans and decisions we make the best man though is that normal, I'm not really that comfortable with it???

I decided to make an appointment to go dress shopping. I wasn't planning on going until after xmas but there is a few stores near me that have sample sales coming up. I have however saw a dress that I love and the bonus is h2b likes it. I was looking at dresses and I kept asking him if he liked some of the ones I was looking at and he said yes to some of them so I know what 1 I want. However I cant justify the price and would ideally like to stay under £500. xx

I have no idea, I need to speak to OH and see what his reason his. The best man is a nice enough bloke but has been getting under my skin recently so I would like him to back off a bit. I really wouldn't mind if it was like a suit catalogue or car brochure that he took to him but it was the whole wedding planning book centered completely on the budget and I'm not cool with that, to me that is a me and OH thing with no Best man involved.

I've lost a bit of momentum in my planning at the moment, I just don't know what else I can do right now. Venue, registrar and DJ is all booked, flowers have been discussed with my Godmother (who is a florist), cake is being taken care off, rings have been bought and, guest list is being worked on.

I don't want to start looking at dresses until the new year, once I've lost a bit of weight, but I'm so excited to go and find my dress that I don't know if I can hold out that long lol!

We're hoping to take our Mums to an open day at the venue next month so they can see it- Hopefully they'll fall in love with it as much as we have. It's been over a year since we booked it and paid our deposit.

Someone tell me what I can do in the mean time- I want more exciting wedding tasks to do to stop me feeling like it too far away!!

What about transport? Makeup artist? Hairdresser?

I've emailed a lady about making two small brooch bouquets for my flower girls. Feeling really excited about that. I know they will take a little while to design and make so feeling happy I've made the design now.
