Sorry thought I put about the car taking to the reception venue, clearly multitasking is not my strong point.
I'm going to speak to some companies and find out if they would just pick up from the church to take me and h2b to the venue (maybe the kids if they allow car seats).

Unless I missed that part, I was just quickly reading through. I wouldn't have the car to the church it does seem like a bit of a waste of money (says the person who has car and a horse & carriage....oh the irony), but it would be nice for you and your OH to have a car to the reception and I'm sure most places do allow children in their cars but you have to provide the car seats I think.

    Hi Everyone!!

I've been AWOL of late as things have been a bit manic! I would say that I've managed to catch up on what everyone's doing, but you ladies have been very chatty!

I haven't really done much wedding stuff lately. Although I have had a makeup & hair trial. I've also changed the dress for my bridesmaid. With her seal of approval thankfully. Gone for pink instead of green now!

Hope everyone is doing well and having a lovely bank holiday weekend.

I'm not sure how much I updated last time (or when I was even here lol) but we exchanged on a new build house a couple of weeks ago. We were told it'll be ready Sept/Oct but could be Jul/Aug. Hoping it's the latter to allow plenty of time for full on wedding stuff!

    new bridesmaid dress
    new bridesmaid dress
This is the dress I've now gone for my bridesmaid, rather than green. The idea is that now my brother will wear a pink shirt and tie that matches the colour (as he's bridesman) then the "boys" will have green/pale turquoise as their colour. This way I can make it more obvious that my brother is one of us and now with the others lol. Going to get a pink tie for Dad too. Luckily my brother feels man enough to pull off pink hehe.

I really need to crack on with my DIY stuff, what are you hoping to find Stacey? I haven't done any yet really. Time is going to run out!

Just more stuff to make really haha, I've done my favour boxes, the outside of my order of service, the inside of my invites (pocketfolds are on order the company have a bit of a backlog), made my postbox, painted the picture board, base of the table plan is done.

I've well and truly been bitten by the DIY bug hahaha, I found a wooden basket for the confetti but there isn't really much you can do with that.

I'm starting to get into the mindset of putting the invites together. Just been to visit mum who's been keeping the card safe and the main coloured card if a lot more blue than I remember. So annoyed, it's meant to be a blue/green. Gah!!

We finally have an invoice from the venue decorator ladies!
Just need the one from the venue now haha.
I'll be glad when it's all over. As much as I'm enjoying the planning it's so bloody stressful when everyone thinks you have all the time in the world and you want it done yesterday lol.

One of the groomsmen has set up a group and added the rest in and me and asked about suits etc apparently they are sick of hearing me going on about it. Haha oops! They were really nice about it tho, so can't get moody with them.

Saw FIL yesterday and he looks awful bless him and in so much pain. He had another heart attack so has spent a week and half laid in a hospital wired up to god knows what. They operated and while in there saw two hernias so waiting to hear when he has to go back in to have them operated on.

You need to get a guillotine! I'd be lost without mine for when I do craft.

So I need some advise before I make a purchase of new card. Is getting it ordered from Germany crazy? I found the right colour in crafy hobby shop today, but they didn't have much there. It's out of stock on their website which makes me think they aren't going to be stocking it much longer.
I can only find it in paper form and not card from other websites.

Am I mad going to such lengths for "just" card?

Been very busy this week and brought loads. My post man is going to hate me!

I've got all favours - L3g0 men soap for the males - heart soaps for the females- books and rubber ducks for the babies and activity boxes for the children.
Gifts- BM's - Glitter champagne flutes (my son smashed the ones I made, my own fault) and mini bottle of champagne - m.o.b/m.o.g- Candles - FG's - Fairy wings, wand, head band, Barbie's.
    Flowers for m.o.h
    Hoops for me and FG's
    Photo props and neon socks.

I think all we left to get is,
    Wedding rings (in august)
    Wedding car kit
    Ties and pocket squares
    Gifts for GM's
    Suits for Groom and PB's
Neon garters and fabric to turn the hoops neon.
Can anyone think of anything we may have missed?

Also got all the 'do not eat me' tags , thank you tags and name cards printed and cut out :D Now waiting very impatiently for my parcels.

    How's everyone else's planning going?

Wow Tiff, you have been busy haven't you!!!! I always wait impatiently for parcels haha.

I had the same trouble with card Em, the only ones I could find in stores were coloured one side not both. So I started looking online eventually found the right colour but it was a 100 sheet pack and 60 pound. So scrapped that idea started looking again, this time on the bay and found two ten sheet packs for 3 pound each with free postage and I still haven't opened the other pack yet.

I borrowed the office guillotine on Friday and got all the pieces cut now just need to pair them up and decide how to decorate???

I get a bit scared of buying and making certain things in case they perish, I have made the invites and put them together but still a but concerned that the double sided tape might dry out and they will fall apart?

I haven't decided on gifts etc yet, been thinking cufflinks but I know Jason wold probably fold his sleeves up so they wont be any good anyway, and not sure teenage brothers would be that bothered by cufflinks lol

This waiting for stuff is killing me! Fell down the stairs running to the door this morning for it to be someone who got the wrong house! Minuets later the post man came with only 2 parcels. One of which I ordered last year and had given up on, it's not been paid for and I can't for the life of me remember who I got it off and there is no invoice. Don't have a clue what to do.

We've not bothered with cufflinks as the shirts they are all getting you cant use them with anyway. Stuck on what to get the GM tbh. I guess I could put the neon socks, ties and pocket squares in the gift bags but would that count as there are wearing them for the wedding?

Went to order the cake the other day and check on the price to now be told they only take a weeks notice and to come back a week before the wedding!! Are they having a laugh?! Alarms set in both our phones so we don't forget to order it lol.

    Thank you :)

So far we have booked the venue(s) and decided on decorations but haven't done much else as its quite awkward at the moment because we don't live together (both live at home with parents since uni, we're trying to buy a house this year as well as planning the wedding). Not sure if it's just me but I feel like as I am 23 and look very young for my age (still get ID-ed as I could pass for 16!) people in the bridal shops are being quite patronising.

I found it the same Emma. I had just turned 24 and had a baby 8 weeks beforehand when I got my dress. I got constant sly remarks and looks of one of the staff. Once that member of staff went home the whole experience changed and the other lady was lovely. I put it down to jealously. Hope it didn't put you off going and tying more on.

Luckily I already have my dress as I'm wearing my mum's (tried it on as a little girl and fell in love) but it's when I've been in to look at accessories and get alteration quotes etc. I do feel like I'm missing out a little by not finding my "own" dress and was thinking about trying some on for fun but decided against that as I didn't want to risk coming across a dress I liked even more.

Just collected my new glitter champagne flute and they are stunning! Really want to finish them now but have a poorly clingy child who obviously comes first. Just waiting on my hoop, my moh's flowers, more photo props and some rubber ducks.

Question about invites do you have to do the menu, rspv and information cards ? I've only done the actual invite.

I think it depends on the style of invite, if you have enough room to include the location and rsvp then you don't really need any inserts.

I've only done the menu because people have a choice to pick from and accommodation as the hotel does get booked up in advance.

We have a menu, RSVP, guest information and gift information cards. We have the menu card and RSVP as we need people to choose their meal. some of our guests aren't from the area so need to let them know about accommodation and there is also a huge road redevelopment happening which means road closures happen.

I wouldn't worry to much, it all comes down to what the bride and groom want. I've had a wedding invite with just the date, time and location with the address to send an RSVP. One wasn't included and I just bought one from the card shop.

Thanks ladies. We are having a set menu and already know about any allergies etc and there meals will be altered.
We have managed to put the address and post code for the reception and have included out mobile numbers for rspv's. So sound like I have it all covered.

Stacey personally I would get her to go with you to see if the dress can be taken out. If it can't at least she is there to hear it from them. She may decide herself to diet or offer to buy a new dress in a size up.

Just waiting on my hoop now. Rubber ducks, props and moh flowers come today. I've sorted the flowers out to match the others and took all the squeaky things out the ducks. Can't be doing with that noise during the meal and speeches haha, it was scary how easy they came out would hate for it to have been in a child's mouth and happen!
