Spent most of the weekend creating the favour boxes, well tracing round an outline to get the main shape to make them from. Now just have to cut them out won't be sticking them together till next year.

    Your honeymoon sounds lovely Lynsey.

New flower girl dresses came today and they are beautiful. Going to get them a hoop each to make the skirt look fuller. They have princess style dresses. So glad my mum and H2B told me to sleep on it but I ordered some different ones because I love them. Just got to hide them now so they kids don't mess them up.

    Hey all,

Sorry I have been MIA for a few weeks, sounds like you are all making tonnes of progress,.
I haven't don't much more lately, started a new job on the 6th which has been a bit manic and wedding hasn't been at the top of the list but I have cut out the boxes for confetti. And last night I think I have come to a decision on decorating the archway which acts as a backdrop for our ceremony. So little bits getting signed off :)
if people wanted vintage cars I am getting a couple an prices are excellent, feel free to message me and I can send you the name of the company :)

Rome!!! How lovely Lynsey, it will be breathtaking :)

We have a list of locations and we are going to go to a few holiday agents places in May to get prices and choose from that. Top location we both want to go is an Island called Kuramanthi in the Maldives.

Sending my engagement ring to me re-dipped and cleaned soon ready for the engagement shoot in May I will be lost without it.

Lots going on ladies and I can't believe some of you have less than a year already. Wow

I have book florist now just to secure the date as I really liked her and she will only do one set up wedding on a date.

Question- is anyone booking an one the day coordinator (didn't even know what this was)
    Do you need one?

I've also started getting little bits now like flip flops. I want to be left with just main bills next year to pay off.

Amy I am so glad I am not the only one wanting to get everything in advance then just paying main bills off. My H2B keeps telling me to wait til the week before for the 'little' bits. Erm nothing to do with a wedding is 'little' in my eyes anyway lol.

I'm not having a wedding coordinator.

I just think he won't notice all the little bits as they will drip in and be paid for.

A family member (who didn't know about my wedding yet) messaged me this morning to let me know she is getting married next year and had booked the date yesterday. Of course I was over the moon for her and asked her when...That's when my heart sunk and I had a mini heart attack. She had only gone and booked her wedding for the same day as mine! (obvs not knowing). She asked if I would attend and I told her I'm afraid I wouldn't be able to as I would be at my own wedding! She then spoke to her H2B and messaged me an hour later saying they had just rang their church and had moved their wedding to the week after ours, so our family can attend both our weddings and we could attend each others. Two very lucky brides.

My H2B thinks there pointless, no one is going care if they have favours or a thank you tag etc apparently. I will care tho so I'm doing it anyway. I'm sure he will change his mind once they arrive.

Having activity packs for the children, bath toy for the babies and candles for the ladies. Don't have a clue what to get them men tho. I don't want chocolate or sweets as we are having a sweetie buffet and H2B doesn't like the little alcohol things either.

OMG Tiffany, I would have been the same as you, how weird though that she chose the exact same date!!! So nice of her to move it though at the same time.

I find favours are one of the more memorable details as a guest, maybe you could do little aftershave samples or something like that.

awwhh that is lovely that she moved the date though!

Little bits and details make all the dfference, again my H2B thinks it is all pointless and a waste of money but to me the devil is in the detail and it means more to me.
I have been buying little bits for months and I just squirrel them away, we haven't managed to really get going on our savings though so the account it looking deathly. Hopefully that should be resolved from this month and we can both start getting some cash into the account waiting for all the big deposits etc

We are lucky, our venue is small and only offers one wedding a day etc so we get the venue coordinator for our wedding and she is great, she knows the venue well and organises all weddings there so has a massive wealth of knowledge about the venue and what works in the best way.

Showed oh the wedding favours I'm ordering and he has been looking for some for the lads and found l3g0 men shaped soaps lol. They do look cool but they look like sweets and someone in our family would try and eat them! May still get them and do a tag saying don't eat me. He still thinks there pointless tho.

I think it is possible it depends on the shape of the mould the flowers are in. If it just a normal one then it can be done by removing the drop at the front and filling in the gap. Have a look at what is holding the flowers into place and that will give you a better idea.

Hello everyone, sorry I've not been on here lately. Everything is a bit mental at the moment! We're almost at our 12 month mark and things are starting to fall into place and we are also going through the process of getting a new house. We'll be moving 6 months before the wedding... eep!

I am trying to get all the paperwork together for that and my Dad is getting obsessed with booking transport. Not that I can complain too much as he's offered to pay for it as I'm not fussed about having a fancy car but he really wants to get one!

I'm trying to get H2B a little bit more interested (and involved) with the wedding planning. He just tells me that he's more excited about the marriage than the wedding. Which is lovely, but doesn't help when I feel like I'm doing it all myself!!

I need to catch up on everything that's been going on with you guys, I hope you're all well

Checked my flowers today and they are not in a mould. Looks as if they are all just different length stems, if that makes sense.

Lady who did my flowers is doing me some new BM flowers. 1 large MOH poesy, 3 large BM poesy's and 2 flower girl head vines all for £100 :D ( I was stupid and got theirs from somewhere else. Step son wanted to see them so showed him and he pointed out loads of problems, not that he knew that's what he doing bless him)

Keeping mine as they are for now in the hope I decide I like them again.
So happy they are all going to finally match. Lord knows what was going through my head when I ordered my flowers last year lol.

Still no invoice from venue decorator. I want to start paying her on Friday but don't want to be pushy asking for it again, after she explained her husband is ill.

My MIL keeps telling us we need a wedding car. I'm getting ready at hers and you literally walk out her door, cross the road and your at the church! Our friend is going to put some bows and ribbons on his car and drive us to our reception.

Sounds like we have all been very busy. Haven't posted here in a while as I've not been doing much wedding stuff but getting excited about things this week. Found the shop we are hiring the lads suits from just got to go back on a less busy day and pay the deposits and I have also booked my first dress shopping appointment for the end of the month so very excited about that!

What flavour cakes are people having? We have a family friend doing ours (she has done wedding cakes before) but she has pretty much told us we can have what we want. Only thing is OH is happy enough to go with anything I say but I don't like cakes really. I don't mind fairy cakes but that's about it so was thinking about a couple of different flavour cupcakes with a small cake on top for the cutting of the cake part.

Hi Kathleen, we are having a 3/4 tier cake but I'm a massive cake person. The cupcakes allow you to have a lot of variety which is great. I really like unconventional flavours like champagne and strawberry, we decided that we choose the flavours of two tiers each so there is no argument over them

Venice theme sounds lovely Michelle, it's a theme you can actually take through into everything. My OH wants football related table names as he doesn't seem to think they need to be in keeping with everything else. I think us girls are definitely better when it comes to thinking about the finer details

That looks beautiful Michelle. My mom is very traditional when it comes to weddings (she still can't get over the fact our evening buffet is bacon sarnies! :) ) and has commented on fruit cake which I am happy to go for if people still eat it? I have said we will have the small cake for cutting as fruit I then I may go with 2 flavour cupcakes. Our colour theme is mint green and navy blue so it be nice if I can incorporate them somehow too.

Well not even managed 2 days of no wedding planning. Post op is so boring!

Bridesmaids are driving me nuts. All the dresses I send them to choice from all I get is yeah that's nice, nothing else. I sent one I knew they would hate and all but 1 said they like it. It's almost like they either aren't bothered or they are too scared to tell me they don't the dresses. I want them to be comfortable and like the dress especially when they are paying for them.

Hi Tiffany, so glad the op went well!

Why don't you ask the Bridesmaids to go out and find a few styles in the designated colour and ask them to send you pictures. You should be able to identify a clear trend of what they all like then. Sometimes bridesmaids are tricky as they don't want to upset us but honesty is the best policy.

That's exciting Lynsey! I literally can not wait to do that just because I think it makes it all very official haha

As for Bmaids we found some beautiful quality Multiway dresses call 0nl7 w4y. They are a lovely heavy fabric so hang beautifully, and the price wasn't too bad. also means that maids can wear it however they want and however they feel most comfortable which I like because then I don't have to worry about them lol. Should be able to collect them next week which is exciting. will post some pics when I can, although I don't think we can see each others albums yet! Starting to think we should make a FB group so we can share pics haha. - let me know if anyone is up for this

crafty stuff! I was pulling my hair out as I ran out of crafty bits to do and these sort of keep me sane whilst waiting ( I am very impatient ahah) but spoke to Stacey and she gave me a few ideas, currently working on place cards which will be used as tags on the favours which is fun. if not a little fiddly

Congratulations on giving notice Lynsey, I can't wait till we receive our confirmation pack from the church. Once we have that and have made our music choices for the church I can make the middle of the orders of service, the outsides are done.

Still need to do the invites but waiting for the pocketfolds to arrive, then will need to do the inserts when we have decided on a few things.

I've made two photobooth prop pots got another 8 to do yet but they aren't too bad to do.

Want to start gathering photos of family weddings for our board for the venue, will have to remember that this weekend when I see my parents.

What would you use the wax seal for? If it's for sealing your invitation envelopes the wax can be quite thick making the envelope not fit the standard letter size and the postage would be higher.

I found a personalised stamp with ink pad for £7.50 with free delivery on 3b@y.

I will get a group made up this evening make it completely secret so other halves cant see anything and post on here! I feel like we are a little wedding family haha

I am making wax seals - yes it is time consuming and effort but they look nice and you can get little metal measuring spoons to speed it up. I am also making mine ahead of time on a non stick surface like baking paper and putting them in a box, then I am sticking them to the invite with a glue gun! only works if you don't want the wax to actually act as a full seal! Ours are just stuck on a tag so it doesn't matter too much
