I saw a gorgeous wedding dress online last night. Wasn't looking for 1 it just popped up on my newsfeed on fac3b@@k advertising an outlet store. I want to lose some weight before I get my dress but the one I saw was stunning. Tempted to go try it on and see if I actually suite it or not xx

So went dress shopping today. My dream dress was blown out of the water and I had a Cinderella moment. Not sure what to do now. The consultant said to not rush, that I had plenty of time to decide. Eek!

Congratulations Michaela. If you have your venue booked you can start looking at decorations, food, invites, photographer, cars, flowers, cake etc. There is a checklist at the top of the forum that's a good starting point.

Lyndsey I just knew my dress was the one when I put it on so I ordered it, that was 14 months before the wedding. I went to try it on again recently as I was having a few doubts but loved it as soon as I put it on. Just go with your gut xx

Hi Everyone :) I am also a 2018 bride, we have set our date as the 26th May 2018 with both the church, venue and a horse and carriage booked. We have got our colour scheme sorted so we are now just looking at everything else and finalising the budget for everything else. The one piece of advice I keep hearing is that is will fly by so to be ahead of the game so we don't lose out.

Trying to find as many wedding fairs as I can at the moment (not many around Derby) but looking forward to going to the National Wedding Show in Birmingham later this year.

    Happy Planning :)

We booked I8r0x stadium for our wedding. We have picked out our table centre pieces for the dinner tables as we are having our reception in another room we are having balloons on the reception tables. We have 2 lovely topiary trees outside our reception and we bought some red white & blue led rose lights to decorate them. We also have small mirror plates and led candles to go with the balloons. Got pull bows for on the hand rail going up the stairs to our reception room and our candles for the centre pieces for the dinner tables. All coming together nicely. Been looking at bridesmaid dresses as well and narrowed it down to 3 but we are waiting until next year before we buy them xxx

I had a bargain with Flower Girl dresses. With 8h5 closing down I had 3 dresses for £36! We weren't going to buy those until next year but for that price we decided to chance it.

Thanks Leanne! I'm waiting for my mum to have a weekend off and then we are going to see the dress! Eek!

We are going to a local wedding fair in a couple of weeks. We do have some decorations now.

We are having the ceremony and reception in one place. As much as I would love a church ceremony it would be very difficult for my disabled grandmother to travel to two different locations.

I'm still researching lots of things ready to book later in the year and next year.

My clever fiancé has managed to land himself a full time teaching job, so once we are a 2 full time wage couple again, we will be able to put down deposits for our wedding, which will be in 2018. We have pencilled in 7th April, that'll be almost exactly 2 years since he proposed then, almost to the day! I'm getting so excited!!

Hi Lynsey! We are having the ceremony and reception in 1 place too. Not a church wedding as we aren't church goers and would feel a bit hypocritical just going to church for the sake of being able to get married there.

Nice to see so many 2018 brides. We set our date for 23rd March 2018 I've had it booked since Jan. We have the venue booked and payed deposit, payed for back drop, the church booked in but need see the priest next March to do papers. Paying some more to venue every 6 months which really helps. I have chosen my wedding dress and paid for haft it just waiting for it to arrive in shop and we have seen photographer we want so I think many things have been done so far that can be done. It felt ages away but it'd going so fast this year x

Hi Nikita & other brides-to-be! I'm also getting married September 2018 in Scotland! :)
Our venue is holding our date til October for us to put our deposit down as we cannot get Wedding Insurance with the provider we want more than 2 years in advance. So we will be purchasing the insurance on our wedding day minus 2 years then put the deposit straight down for the venue!
I have been looking around and receiving quotes for things we love, so when our insurance is sorted we can start laying deposits down! SO exciting!
With the wedding being 2 years away we definitely feel we need to have some insurance, as you never know what could happen with companies over a long period of time like that - especially after the recent Brexit result!
Feel free to message me, would be nice to chat to someone going through all the same things & following a similar timeline to us!
Good luck with all the planning everyone, hope its as stress-free and enjoyable as possible for you all :) x

We booked our cake yesterday. Have a friend who has made quiet a few cakes for me and does it as her wee part time job so I know its going to look good, nothing worse than getting someone to make you a cake and its a let down. Its 2 cakes that I have seen online and she will put them together to give me mine. Cant wait. Just waiting for the proofs for our save the dates as well. Everything is coming together.

Ive looked online at dresses Lynsey and seen a few that I like. When I'm looking at them or we are watching a programme that has a bride in it I ask h2b if he likes the dress or not lol. Think I will be ok when dress shopping as we have a similar taste in dresses xxx

We went to a wedding fair last weekend. We had tasted a few cakes at previous wedding fairs and they all been disappointing.

Last weekend only had two ladies with cakes. The first cake was dry and I had trouble swallowing it. The other lady had chocolate sponge with caramel frosting. It was amazing! Hubby to be decided there and then we had to book her. As we booked at the fair we got free delivery! Yay!

How many of you ladies are thinking about making your invitations?

H2b and I sat down over the weekend checking we had sent all the day guests a save the date which led to invitations. We have seen a few suppliers at the two fairs we had been to over the last two months so looked at those first but soon found the stationery budget was ripped apart. We are now thinking about making our way, we ordered samples of plain gatefold and laser cut designs which arrived today.

I have asked my sister to make our stationary, she is much more talented than myself and it seems cheaper than getting them made elsewhere. Also its a way of ensuring that they are made the way that we would like to.

Wow you have sent your save the dates already I'm not planning on sending any out until next year??
