Hello Amy and Sarah so exciting for us next year brides.

I have just met with a videographer and we booked him so happy. H2B was very impressed!

Invites is a hard one cos it the theme of your wedding so I would choose the one you love. I haven't even got an idea of what we want.

    Hi Amy and Sarah,

Welcome to UK Bride!! Wishing you all the best for your planning.

AmyT I would definitely ask your venue for DJ recommendations and h1tch3d too, you can also try any local wedding fayres as there will be DJ's there too.

Would love to see some pics of both RSVP's Liz, I'm going to try and do some more rough examples of my invites on the computer, worried about how much blue there is on them.

So! I dug out my invites last night, I tidied the pocketfold cases that I made up and also did a trial on making our wax seals, thought if I made them ahead I could then glue them on without worrying about ruining an invite by going wrong?
BUtt I feel much better about my invites and remembered I love them.
Will post pics up of seal and the pile of tidied cases (not exciting but still)

So overall much happier and excited to get making them, but I think its a bit early to do all the printing etc yet?

    xx

2 months doesn't leave very long in between then receiving and seeing if they can come? That's why I was thinking November means they arrive before the xmas rush. They they get to forget about it over Dec with xmas and then decide Jan Feb and send back March? lol

Maybe I am thinking into this too much? lol

Well if you send early Jan then they have three months to decide and the Christmas rush is over, I'd be worried sending them before Christmas as they might get forgotten about completely....well it might by some of my family lol

Hello lovely ladies. I've been out of the loop of weddings a bit as looking at houses, but did see a photographer at the weekend that we're keen on. Seeing a couple that do photography next weekend just for a comparison.

I have just found amazing cakes on marks and sparks!

Actually slightly tempted to get them they are so awesome lol

I'm going to be sending my invites at Christmas, or just before. I'd hope that people will keep them safe if they really want to come!

    The invitations look lovely!

H2b and I were talking when to send invites last week. We were thinking end of October with a mid January RSVP date. As we need to give our numbers six weeks before it should give three weeks to chase anyone who hasn't replied.

Or at least that's the plan.

My OH and I have been together since we met at uni in 1999, for my 19th birthday OH bought me an eternity ring and said one day we will get married- I always knew we would get married- my OH just wanted to save the money and have a big all singing all dancing wedding- i can't wait

So far we have venue , church( need to start going to church this year as out of our parish) string quartet for church, acoustic guitar for reception and wedding breakfast, magician for the part between end of wedding breakfast and band starting and today we have just booked the band - I've put a des posit in a dress- need to ask BMs and OH needs to ask Best man and GMs

Really starting to get get excited but at the same time full of sadness as I haven't got my mum- sadly she passed away 2 years ago- complete shock- went home for her 60th birthday in The MAy, told she hadn't been well and needed a biopsy- had biopsy and said it was cancer- June got results that it was terminal and by the August she had sadly left us- every since the. I have taken the motto that life is too short to argue and have resentments and to love each day to its full- :-)

I think its good if you ask loads of questions, we have a little easel already at home I might use that to judge how big it should be....would have to get it out the loft though.... I'll get OH to grab it at the weekend and take a photo of what the canvas looks like then decide.

Need to spam my venue with questions, unsure whether to ask over the phone or not, as I would like an early check in for a hair and make up trial....might call its more direct then.

On the invite sending front we are sending ours in January then its 5 months notice 3 months to decide and then it will give then more of a chance to book the rooms as the hotel can get pretty full.

Hey ladies I have a little dilemma, love some advice

So I found some possible bridesmaids dresses in the sale so great price.
I think the colour would sit nicely next to my dress and the style is very formal which I like.

However my maid of honour hated it saying it was very grown up, wishing washy in colour and not flattering.
I am stuck as i know I have loads of time to find something but worried about sending them back and not finding anything I like better. But I really wanted my bridesmaids to like the dresses.

Should I just send back and go on a proper search with the girls and just pay out for the perfect dress.

    HI Amy

He new layout now wont let me access your wall! which is really really annoying unless I am being stupid. I would be a bit 50 50, I don't think not liking a dress because it is mature is a particularly good reason , its a wedding after all and these pictures will be with you forever. has she even tried it on?
It is your wedding and if you are paying then its slightly tough but you also don't want them to have a face like a slapped arse all day...

I am not sure I was any help at all, but I would make her try it on and be reasonable she has to understand there are budgets and it isn't her wedding!

Hi Amy, another really struggling with the new layout. I can not seem to find your album either.

However, I really think your MOH needs to try the dress on. Unless it looks dreadful or doesn't fit then as you are paying I think she needs to suck it up. I am so lucky with my MOH, she said she would wear a black bag it was what I wanted. Lol. My MOH dress is a calf length pale pink dress with pleated skirt. It's so girly and fun. I love it! And so does she!

Hey everyone! How are we all.

The OH and I have picked our photographer, well photographers actually. It's a couple that spends the day with you taking lots of photos. They are married themselves and seem really friendly. They were recommended to me by 2 different people I know as well, so that's got to be a good thing!

Cake tasting next week, then I think it'll be a bit of a break until we've got moved (sale going through at the moment). All every exciting.

Stavey, I bought some pots for this exact thing. The only thing I could probably describe them as are pots that you would put pot plants in to cover up the ugly plastic pot. I think they are hidden at the back of a cupboard at the moment, but if I can find them I'll take a photo.

Hi ladies, it feels like ages yet again since I last checked out this discussion. since my last visit I have now attended 2 wedding fairs and got some good deals, we booked a magic selfie mirror for the evening they look amazing and different to the usual photo booths. We haven't been to a wedding with one before so we felt it would be nice to be different. That was the last thing we wanted to book. We are also attending a food taster session at our venue in a couple of weeks, things are falling into place nicely and I feel so organised haha. you girls sound like you have all been busy back on the wedding planning aswell.

Having one of those weekends where I doubt myself. This weekend it's invitations. I found laser cut invites last summer, we decided not to order until this year when have confirmed our guest list in case the design we wanted was discontinued. Yesterday I went on the site and found a lot of their laser cut designs had been reduced 50%. The design we want is still full price but there were two other designs which we liked previously now reduced. Do we stick with our original idea or go for the cheaper option? It would mean changing the inserts which we have been working on. H2b has said he likes all the designs.
