Feeling a bit overwhelmed with everything at the moment. At the start of the week we only had rings, flowers and transport to sort and then the honeymoon. A travel agent friend is helping us with that and we had a good chat about possible hotels for her to get quotes from. She got back to us today and after exhausting all her resources the prices are more than double what we can afford. Its not her fault but its just put a right dampener on things as we haven't been on holiday for 2 yrs and I'm desperate to go away.
We did have another rsvp back today, from the friend who was going to do the cake but had to decline as she'll have just given birth so we're pleased they still want to come but cake headache continues. I said about M&S cakes to OHs mum and she said something really funny about us having to have a round cake to cut. To be honest I'm not that fussed about the cake but we're using it as food in the evening so need to have something. How easy is it to employIT Man from Bake Off? Lol.
    Sorry for epic post x

Kirsty don't let it put a dampener on things. What about setting up a honeymoon register page so people can put money towards your honeymoon. My OH cousin has just done that for her wedding. The cake is there anyone you know that does baking for a hobby or would you try doing it yourself. I know the ones in m&s you can get them in different sizes and get the bits so you can tier them and I think you can get them plain so you can decorate them yourself. Sorry not much help really but hope you feel better about everything soon xxx

The lady in the shop said 14 weeks but it will be 6 months next week. I've sent her a message and she said that they have timed it so it doesn't come in too early in case anything changes like pregnancy etc. She said it will be in later this year x

Is that for real flowers? If so it's a good price, I was getting quotes between £350 and £400 when I was looking at real ones, that was for bridal bouquet, 4 BM's bouquets, FG basket, 2 buttonholes, OH's buttonhole and mum's buttonhole xx

Thanks for the support ladies. We were looking at Italy, either Sorrento or Sicily. OH doesn't want to do Greece as he's a bit concerned about the finance situation there at the mo. We are going to see about a few other places like Cape Verde seeing as it appears we can go there all inclusive for our budget. But we prefer smaller hotels and eating out at local restaurants in the evening than queuing for the same buffet so its a bit tricky. Our invites have asked for money towards the honeymoon rather than gifts but we don't want to rely on that as we don't know what people will give. We'll get there.

Might pick up a taster cake from M&S and see how good it is. What a good excuse to eat cake! X

Kirsty we looked at Italy too but it's quite pricey then we looked at Greece but same as you iffy about going there due to the problems. I also like eating out at different restaurants each night not sure I'd like all inclusive and being in a resort so don't no what we will do

The Canary Islands are nice as well Kirsty if you're pushed with the cost ... Our friends went to lanzarote for their two week honeymoon ... Fuertaventura is probably the nicest if you like it quieter and peaceful especially caletta de fusta: if you fancied something more lively people say that correlajo is a bit like Blackpool but the beaches are absolutely stunning .. We went to flag beach near correlajo and we aren't beach people but we went every day for the rest of the holiday .. It was brilliant White powder sand with clear blue / turquoise sea that you could see the fish through .. It was beautiful! There's lots of nice little restaurants and pubs round the island too :)

Everyone seems to have been busy :) especially Flossie.

I've been looking online for ideas to jazz up the glass jars I have to dot around the tables with tea lights in. Think I'm leaning towards lace for the small baby food jars and maybe glittery peacock patterned ribbon for the larger coffee jars.

I need to find a dress for the wedding we're going to next month. I'm not a fan of clothes shopping but I've ordered a couple online so fingers crossed I like one of them!

I've ordered kids activity packs. Not sure what they will be like. I was going to go for personalised ones but decided not to in the end as it was going to be a bit of a hassle. They weren't expensive so if no good then doesn't matter too much. Think we are going to sort suits out in January/Febuary time x

Love all the centre pieces and buttonholes Flossie. Everyone seems to be making some good progress! We spoke to some of our friends the other week who are guests (they've had a save the date) but they seem to be thinking that we should send the invites out fairly soon even though we still have 9 months. I'm confused about the whole thing.

Yeah, Christmas is the issue. I feel people will be a lot more excited and willing to book B&B's and look at getting transportt sorted in the new year, whereas if I sent them out this year I'd probably get the same response as the save the dates "oh its next year, plenty of time... blah blah!!!" xx
