Flossie - if you're looking for birdcages try H0me bargins. They have loads at the mo for really cheap. X

Hi Ladies.
All your plans seem to be coming along swimmingly. :D Were getting married 1st May 2016.
So far we have booked and paid deposit for the Venue/Catering for day/evening as were having it all in one place and we have saved our date/paid deposit with the registrar. I brought my first decorations the other day - some tea light holders with big hearts attached and 3 big metal hearts with smaller hearts dangling inside. thought I could have the tea lights up the isle (with fake candles in) and the big hearts on the table at front for ceremony.
Starting to look at DJ's and Photographers next, will hopefully have them booked in next month. Colour scheme is almost decided just need to make sure it works for centre pieces etc.

Oh, this thread's a great idea - I love it!
Well, so far J and I have:
- Booked, paid deposit and sent booking form back to our venue. - Contacted the registrars and got ourselves in the system for our date - Pretty much sorted the rings and will be discussing payment with the jeweller next week - I'm down to just two dresses to pick between - Come up with our table number/name idea - I've sketched out a few decoration ideas for banners and stuff
Still lots to do, but now the really important (venue and registrar) are done, everything else we can take a bit of time over.
Flossie - I think you and I are getting married on the same day, 18th of June! :)
I'm 5th of March 2016. I've paid half the venue Booked the photographer Found the cake Chosen BM dresses and the suits for hire Sorting the flowers but a word of warning for those who get married on this date it is mothers day so get the flowers sorted early as prices may go up!

Reading has a H0me bargins if thats local to you. I got lots of fairy lights there for our centrepieces.
FutureMrsPendlebury, will you have to get an extra special gift or bouquet for MOB/MOG if they will be there? What a lovely way to celebrate though but good idea to get flowers booked early. X

These have just arrived. They are to stick on to my post box as I'm doing my own :)

They look really lovely. Is your theme butterflies?
My h2b is obsessed with maps and we've seen a kind of treasure chest with old style maps on so might get that for any cards. Plus we can use it as our keepsake box after the wedding. X

We have just got back from the wedding fayre and have put a deposit down on a car. They've already got 2 people booked for our date so we didn't want to leave it any longer. Fil friend has said we can use his car but may use that for bridesmaids instead as this one is open top. Hoping it's a lovely warm summers day :) x

Oh maybe I got a good enough deal then lol just thought it was a lot for a few hours! Flossie I priced a campervan for bridal party and old style beetle for me and oh and it was £700 I really love them but couldn't justify that so we went with the traditional vintage look cars instead

Finally got a picture of the Dancefloor we are having and I'm so excited. Some people may think why are you paying extra for a Dancefloor?? It's massively important to me that everyone gets up dancing and the majority of my friends and me especially, love a good dance and the existing Dancefloor at my venue is depressing, so I just had to do it!!

We're looking at having a naked cake so the cost will be lower anyway because there will be no icing or intricate detailing etc.. The cheapest I've been quoted at the mo is £275 which includes the set up and delivery fee. However would need to provide my own flowers for the decoration. x

Not decided 100% but I do like that idea! I haven't discussed the cupcakes with any cake makers yet though so unsure if it will affect the price by much... It shouldn't do too much as would just have a smaller "main" cake to compensate x

No I would say it should be about the same as the cost for the other tiers would go towards the cupcakes, if anything maybe it would be slightly cheaper x

We shall seeee! I've hit a brick wall at the minute, just can't seem to get myself motivated wedding-wise. I guess we've done a lot in the last few months though and we've had lots to pay out for so just catching up with myself before I get started again lol! I think after next pay day I will definitely get a deposit down on a cake x

We're on hold for the time being as there isn't really anything to do at the mo. We've booked everything I think we need and the rest doesn't need doing yet. We have an appiontment to meet our new wedding coordinator at our venue in a couple of weeks but that's it.

Hi everyone, Im getting married on 23rd July 2016.
We have just started planning a church wedding, we have our local church booked but were still looking for a venue. We did have one booked and paid the deposit but they rang up a few days later to say they had double booked the date so were back to square one.. we have viewed a few places but no joy yet.
I already have my dress... some people say ive rushed into getting it but i seen the one i love and i know if i hadn't of got it when i did and waited then i couldn't get it i would have been kicking myself. Apart from that havent got anything else sorted.
Hope everyone is having as much fun planning their weddings as i am planning mine. Louise.

Well done ladies! You've all done so much already!
We've sort of set the date, although as it's a bamk holiday Saturday a lot of the venues we like had the date already booked so we're prepared to be flexible, as we really want a barn conversion for our wedding.. but still viewing venues so hopefully should have one booked next week.. Fingers crossed!
We only got engaged mid Jan 2015 and I though I was very organised by starting to plan 18 months in advance.. turns out people do it even sooner!
I did try some dressed on the National Wedding Show and found 2 I absolutely loved.. but decided not to get any as I feel like it's so early I'll probably change my mind a few times before the wedding ;-)
CommentAuthorDanielleS0709
Louise I got my dress early too but like you just loved it and couldn't walk away because if it got discontinued id be devastated!!
I booked my cake a couple of weeks ago was getting quoted 350+ for a 3 tier iced cake but good job I loved!! The naked cakes fits perfectly with my theme. Costs £250 for 4 tiers plus a tier to send to kitchen for cutting later so 5 cakes really. Also includes delivery and set up so I'm delighted with that!

My cake is 4 tiers with the top being fruit and the rest sponge (raspberry and lemon). Got a good price of £240 so I'm really pleased. That includes delivery and set up etc....
