I have paid for my perfect dress :) yay!!
But I am now wondering about underwear. It is tight fitting (will show every lump and bump) and although I am a size 6 I have a little pooch going on, on my belly.
What are the opinions on wearing a corset underneath? Is it a good idea? Any ideas on what style/where to get a good one for a bargain price? Or any other options to tuck me in nicely underneath?

Thanks in advance my lovelies :)

I think it depends on your dress, do you have any pictures?

I would hate to be in a corset! My dress will be tight fitted too and there's no way i'd be able to hack wearing a corset all day.
I am just working on making my tummy a little flatter by planking and going gym too.

Do you have any pics of you in the dress as i think we all self criticise worse than we actually are?

I have the same problem. I am a size 8, but after having a baby, my body has lots of lumps, which would show in the dress.
I bought one of those shape-underwear things from that shop with the big A. they have them at the moment for 2.99, I think it was. It only goes over your belly, but it keeps it all in and looks much more comfortable than a corset.

I'd hate a corset too but mine is pretty fitted at the top already! I'm quite small chested and it's that good that I can even go without a bra if I want and it makes them look bigger ... I doubt I will be tho as I feel uncomfortable without one x

Wish I had that problem katielea100 :-) I have literally no boobs

I wouldn't want to wear a corset I'm a size 8 and have 3 kids but my dress is sort of ruched round the tummy bit anyway so doesn't matter
I would say maybe Bridget jones knickers instead?

Hunny I know you have issues but a size 6? Really? I wear a size 18 so my issues are 3 times bigger than yours! If I was a 6 I'd be showing it all off!! Be proud of who you are :) xx

Seriously at a size 6 even in a fitted dress I don't think you need anything. And chances are this little pooch is teeny tiny and probably a part of you h2b loves

I'm a 8 and like you still have a bit of a complex about my stomach more so because I bloat when I eat
I'm finding it hard to find one peice shape wear for such a small size I think its going to be a case of getting them high up to the ribs shorts

I don't see any tummy problems there and I would say a corset would make the dress shape weird, I would recommend some shape-wear if your conscious of your tummy. Will just smooth over any problem areas. and get it before your fitting if you decide to go for it.

Yeah I think I will go for the shaper pants to hold me in. I have Crohns Disease so have a high chance of bloating on the wedding day due to stress/food I dont normally eat etc. Just keeping my fingers crossed that I dont flare on the day! :)

Thanks for all your help my lovelies xxx

Ohh you are tiny!!! The dress is lovely but i think because it's not a heavy dress the material wont hide and lumps and bumps, not that you have any!! But i know what you mean about wanting to not have a belly sticking out, but you deffo dont have a pooch!!! Big knickers will sort any worries out but really, you shouldn't worry xxx

For the ladies who are planning on wearing sucky in tummy pants, how do you plan on going to the loo? I thought about these but as my dress is fitted to the waist I wasn't sure how I would get the pants on and off if I need to tinkle!!

I'm looking at waist clinchers instead, they do the same thing but only run from under your bra to your knicker line so you still wear your own bra and knickers but still have the control around the tummy area. I'm a size 8 but have a bit of podge on my tummy that I want to hide so a waist clincher will be perfect for me, and I know that Debs sell a wide range of them xxx

oo thats a good idea too. i need to go and try some on i think otherwise i will just work myself up about it lol
my dress is very light so peeing shouldnt be a problem, and its a zip at the back so i should be able to use the loo easily... i hope anyway lol xx

I have popped a link on your wall of the corset I am wearing. Its very lightweight and comfortable and isn't fully boned so you can still move comfortably in it.

i brought a corset type underwear and the dress shop told me not to wear it with my dress as i will be too hot and uncomfortable and the dress is already lined and boned etc so i just got a strapless one instead. ask your dress shop for their suggestions too as they know what works with most dresses x
