really hun,my nurse told me only to shave it once a month,i got addicted to it,then i built up a sensativity and any hair growth was irritating me,i now have to use steroid basses creams during flair ups and its not at all nice, the summers worse when its warm

ha ha - not the same thing, but yesterday i helped my best friend wax her armpits and it was not a happy thing at all. She bled and she now has one shaved armpit and one really sore, swollen and still hairy one. So if you are thinking of waxing and its not something you have done before you need to have a practise day. months before the big day, to make sure its the best thing for you!
    good luck :)

funny story- at school i decided to use hair removal cream on the middle part of my eyebrows to stop them meeting as much (macdonalds brow) and when i wiped it off i wiped off part of 1 eyebrow. it was so embarrasing, it was like it for weeks. the shame of being a teen and going to school like it :(

you should definately have a bikini wax, i always go to a beauty salon to have a wax, it lasts for about 3 weeks before it starts to grow back!!, im having mine the day before, no problems hunny, word of advice tho take pain killers an hour before as i does actually make a difference!!!!! and no it isnt as bad as u think xx

I have Brazilians and they are over so quickly, although they do really hurt - I can't lie. I think they are worth it though, and good if you are going on honeymoon and wearing a bikini everyday. Painkillers an hour before and try to avoid going when you have your period, as it hurts more then. Try to get recommendations from others as having a good therapist do it really does make all the difference xx

I'll be having a bikini line & full leg wax, as long as the hair is not more than 3-4mm long then it does not hurt, longer than that & it is a bl oody bi tch & kills for ages!

I'll be having a wax. I think it depends on your skin type as to how much it hurts, because it really doesn't hurt me that badly and I have it all off! Try to relax and not be too tense as apparently that helps, and trust me you will love the results! but definitely have a trial at least 6 weeks before, and then do the final wax 2 or 3 days before. Good luck! x

I was thinking of getting one for the day and honeymoon but I've never had one before and don't know what to expect when I walk through the door. I know it's sounds silly but what happens? Do they get you to completly strip off down there or what???

Waxing hurts to begin with but when you have it done on a regular basis your skin gets tougher and doesnt hurt as much as the first time you have it done. In regards to the friend that bleed then in my beauty therapy experience her skin wasnt pulled tight tought enough if its done properly then the skin isnt getting pulled just the hairs. Also waxing strips from chemists and supermarkets arent something i would recommend as these dont heat up to the right temp hence why these hurt more to when you go get it done professionally.

Also i wouldnt recommend getting your top lip waxed. I dont offer this for my customers because people can have a reaction to it then your stuck with this on show to everyone.

It is good to have a tester done, like when you get your hair dyed for the first time so you know if you'll have a reaction or not.

I have my legs waxed and bikini line waxed but would never have my underarms waxed again as this is a hard area to pull tought and i thought this one hurt more than the rest.

But please not that none of these are painless it just gets easier with time.

    xx

Different places do it differently, in the salon i work at we get the client to keep her underwear on (best not french nix, the best type is high leg briefs) and we tuck in some tissue so we dont get the wax on the briefs and get the client to move the underwear to keep covered as much as they wish and we just work around what the customer wants. But ask the salon before you book.

Where I go you keep your knicks on and hold them for the waxer to work around too. It's fine, even for a Brazilian or Hollywood wax.

I use an eplilator on my legs and have for years - once you're used to it, it's easy. I can now pull a hair out of my legs with my fingers they're that loose and it's painless!

Tried doing my bikini line once tho - never again! I'll have a little shave before the honeymoon that's about it. Not going to go nuts, as he's seen me as a hairy mary often enough...
