I went in and they had a 75% off sale but this was on off the rack/ex sample dresses so be aware of that. The rest are full price or slightly discounted. When I went in, there was up to 25% of a select few dresses that could be ordered in specifically for you.

My sister is a B'tex bride, lovely dress but tbh I think that was a one off plus she got it full price but with 20% off which covered the costs of her alterations. I went because of her dress and got good service - I tried on 5 dresses (full price) and was really disappointed in them and the service I received.

oh btw dont get alterations there. They tried to charge me 180 and they say they will sort it but all they do is take them up. They dont take them in at the waist or bust or anything so get a proper seamstress! I am BTEX bride and I must admit I love the dress but I picked a designer one so not sure if thats why I had no big issues with it. Service overall was good but they are funny about saturdays even if your wedding is close. Had to rush after work one day to try on and pick it up.

When they altered my sisters dress they took up the hem and took in the waist and bust area. That was in the flagship store on Woodstock Street, London.

I wont be going did look into the discount but I was in the Liverpool shop couple of weeks ago through the 10 mins in the store the shop assistant was on the phone to another store complaining about the how one manager is saying just take a deposit on the dresses any any amount as long as its secured they are not bothered. but other manager was telling the assistants to get their min depoit not sure if it was say £150. The woman didnt get off the phone once whilst i was in the sore make eye contact (felt a bit like Julia Roberts in pretty woman minus the looks, the long legs and red hair o and im not a hooker either jst looked a little disheveled after being caught in the rain lol!) Wouldnt mind all I wanted to ask was do I need to make an appointment to come try on. Not to worry plenty more shops in liverpool but one more major discount designer outlet to try then i will make my decision.
I wouldnt want to put you off but ive been to one bridal shop and their full price gowns are a lot cheaper than RRP and im a bargain girl so will be find out this last store has something for me if not £895 but wont need alternation as fitted like a glove :)
Good luck dont mean to put you off but ive found the smaller the store the more personal they are. xxx

    I agree with Carla.

I've done 4 shops, 1 indepedent small local store and 3 large chains (one being B'tex). The independent was so much more personal (closed the shop for me) with 100% attention of the owner and she was so helpful and flexible to give you just what you want :D

indreamland you were lucky. I saw a woman in there the other day and they didnt take in the bust or waist. She mentioned it and apparently the 180 fee isnt for that type of alteration. Naughty! Hopefully its just that store but ive heard other issues. Buy the dress from there but check you have someone else whos good to alter it x

I'm not getting my dress there suzky. I was really unimpressed with my experience but my sister had a great experience with hers and got all the alterations done too.

I'm getting mine from a local independent bridal store, far better service, faultless so far in fact ................fingers crossed my appointment on Saturday goes according to plan ;)

I went to a berketex sale, got a ticket and they called to confirm the day before.

Went in and was not shown 1 sale dress - everything was full price!

When I saw the sale rack and went for a look, they said 'ooh thats the sale rack' quite snottily and tried to steer me away from it.
Picked a few dresses to try on and was shown to a changing room - no help was offered and I wasn't told about the hoop (luckily I knew I would need one and one was hanging up)

There wasn't anything I could pinpoint about the experience as bad but I felt like the sale of a dress was more important then my feelings.

Afterwards I kept getting phonecalls and in the end just told them I had my dress to stop them calling me!

However, my friend went to the same shop and had a great experience so think you have to try and see for yourself.

Do not get your alterations done there though - heard a few stories and they are overpriced xx

Maybe it depends on the branch?

I'm getting my dress from Berketex and have brilliant service with them from day one. I went in during a sale weekend as they were doing 25% off any dress over £1k and had a 30 minute slot. 2 and a half hours later I was still going and had 3 people helping me, it really made it feel special. I tried on 5 different dresses, one of the dresses I tried on twice and another I tried on 3 times, and I had to be laced into each one.

The dress is now in the shop but I haven't arranged a fitting yet but the £180 (I've been told) covers taking up the hem, bust and waist. I think the bustle will cost extra but I'll be finding out soon when I get the courage up and book a fitting.

I think it's a bit hit and miss as everyone has mixed reviews. Even between mee and my siste we've had mixed experiences of them. I had terrible service but my sister couldn't fault them (and either could I at the time she was getting her dress). She and I were both very unimpressed when I went so I won't order from them. Such a shame.

I think like everyone said hun you will only know if you go in and have a look and experience them for yourself! I got my dress in one of their sales a few months ago that was £600 less than what it should have been! All because it was an ex sample and it's gorgeous :) You never know which shop 'the one' is in so you shouldn't rule any out until you've tried them all! :) Good luck lovely!xxx

Some stores, especially the big well know ones like B'tex and Pronovias are by appt only as they are busy and popular Halebob. No harm in popping in in the off chance someone and a dressing room is available though x

Sijen on here is a berketex bride, and so far it sounds like shes had a good experience. I found the littler independent shops much better but I was a self conscious bride and didnt want to be stuck in a big store with lots of other people

I am a Berketex bride and I had a much better experience in there than I did in the other independant shops I tried dresses on in. The staff were so helpful and gave me all their attention. My dress is beautiful (in my opinion), I suppose it really does depend on the branch because I have heard bad reviews too, always worth a try though. xx
