So pleased you got that sorted Pyxie :)

We only ended up with one person not RSVP by the date we gave and that annoyed me. Shane's grandparents asked if they could RSVP closer to the date as his grandad isn't well and has just come out of hospital so they will let us know next month.

I've had a bridal make up lesson, Sprucey (I've just popped a pic in my photos). You're probably right, maybe it'll look better when I'm wearing more of my outfit with a bit of slap? I'll have to wait 'til my dress is ready to see.

The veil's on some clips so I should be able to play around with the placement a bit - will get searching for some Y0utube vids to see if they can help!

thefuture:Mrs_Hurren - Good show on the RSVPs, we had to chase a least 5 of our friends, I think.

3rd hotel booked for honeymoon :D was actually meant to be the last one but had a bit of a surprise.

The best man is sorting out our accomodation and we held out for an offer to come on the 'last' one but the availability ends the on the 24th and not the 25th of Sept when we come home. The OH, without speaking to me, told him to go for it... so we have one night to find accomodation for. So, OH turned to me when he picked me up from work and said "How do you feel about spending the last night in Orlando in one of the high-end Disney hotels?...

    My response...

So currently it's a toss up between Animal Kingdom Lodge/Villas or the Disney World Swan and Dolphin.

We had the meeting with our photographer today. It went really well. we met at our venue and they had a look at the areas for photos and discussed some extra photos they can take. They have asked us to provide them with a list of any photos that we really want to get so that on the day they dont get missed out in all the hype. Has anyone else been asked to do this and any ideas of what i can tell them would be great. x

Yes ours has asked for a list of any special photos we want and people to include, he will do the standard parents, grandparents etc but just so he doesn't miss any one out. I only have a few things written down as he was saying most brides come with a long list and if hes concentrating on a long list he cant get more fun, natural shots which is what I prefer

Does anyone else wish they could add some more months onto the wedding countdown, it's going far too quick!!
There's so many last minute costs we didn't plan for & there's so many extra's I want to buy, I could do with an extra 6 months to save I think lol :)

What's everyone been quoted for alterations? I completely forgot to budget for them!! My mum did buy my dress but I'm not going to assume she will pay for any alterations, so would rather put some money aside.

Mine cost me £85 for hem, bustle and shoulder strap altered.

I keep finding little extra too, ive now booked myself in to have my nails done so its less stress and a little treat for me, extra hair trials booked as im still undecided, ive also upgraded me photographer package, h2b wants a cheese cake..... I think I could do with more months but I don't want to wait any longer for the wedding!!

Oh good Rebecca yeah I'm sure a play about with the veil it will be fine!
Everyone seems to be steaming on with things I feel like I'm not!!
Bit stressed at the moment as one bridemaid has some things going on with her which are far more important than our wedding but it might mean that she can't come but I won't know until really near the time :/ totally understand but it means not only will I be a bridemaid down but also takes 5 people out of the wedding as her family won't be there which takes my number down to 35 :( with no one to bump up and makes me feel like our numbers will be so small and weedy it'll look silly!
Anyone got any ideas where to go boys grey smart trousers from that don't look like school uniform? Tried most the department stores and next but all are checked or stripy!

I don't think I could go 40 days with no chocolate!

I've been writing weekly to do lists so I don't get overwhelmed. This weeks was to book an app. to give notice - done, Pay the remaining registrar fees - rang today and apparently we can't do this until we've given notice. So now I just need to ring the florist. And we're almost ready to book the honeymoon!

I love crossing things off the list!

I have my 2nd dress fitting tomorrow night, looking forward to it as it now should be prepd at the correct size. It was way too loose after my weight loss.

I need oh to sit down with me and sort out the songs we are having for the ceremony. When we gave notice the registrar said we would need to know them to fill in our marriage ceremony book for when we have our meeting to discuss the ceremony and pay the final balance. It felt like we had ages to choose them but I cant believe its come around so fast and ill need to phone them after my hol next week to book the appointment as they need about 3 weeks notice.

Glad we gave notice when we did or i would never have known about the 2nd meeting!

Pyxie, I never thought I could do it either. My chocolate intake at one point a few tears ago was INSANE then during lent my friend dared me to give up chocolate for 40 days and 40 nights. I genuinely wanted to see if I could do it. The first two weeks we're definitely the trickiest with how much 'sneaky chocolate' is out there not to mention the withdrawals. I actually got pretty bad headaches for the first week :( After a while the reason I didn't eat any was because I use to be a compulsive quitter and decided I didn't want to do that anymore and disappoint myself. I did it and I lost nearly half a stone doing it.

I still have a very intense relationship with chocolate (Just ate a Curly Wurly) but nowhere near as bad as what I use to be like.

I have already lost a lot of weight so keep saying to myself 'I can treat myself' which is becoming a bad habit... think ill do a choc ban see how I get on

I feel exactly the same sprucey, there are still so many little things to pay for which together actually cost alot more than we planned, our youngest starts secondary school in sept also & his uniform is so expensive, middle son has had a major growth spurt so needs all new clothes/shoes, it's also both of there birthdays close to the wedding. H2b's eldest son is passing out from the army 5 days after the wedding, which involves 3 tanks of petrol, a hotel & food money for us to visit him & watch the parade, etc!!
Think we might end up having to borrow some money from my mum which we didn't want to do :(

I've had some quotes through to alter the 5 bridesmaid dresses (shorten length & straps), the first said £35 per dress but she'll do 1 dress for free, so £140 total. Another has said she cant give an exact price until she's seen the dresses but as a rough guide £25 per dress, totaling to £125. I'm still waiting on one more quote from someone very local to me (other end of my road), so will wait & see what price she says before making a decision.

Blimey mrsrobson lots going on! Since I've gotten the secondary school stuff it's stressed me out that I've got to get that sorted first and put wedding stuff to the back of my mind but I can't even get the school uniform yet until I've gone to the school meeting in July! So I can't really wait for wedding stuff! I knew it was coming but there's so much extra, it's a grammar school and they're doing sports integration days to get the kids to know each other before school, great I thought! Until I saw its £35 a day!! :/ now I know how my mum felt when I started at a private girls school and she was a single parent!
Plus the oh is peeing me off just not getting that I have a million things going round my head at any one time and doesn't help with anything to do with the wedding he's not contributed at all, he's just gonna turn up on the day and everything would of magically just happened!!

Really excited this evening - it feels like Christmas Eve...

OH and I are off to visit our reception venue tomorrow to scope it out and plan our party decorations. It's an old oyster packing shed on a little island with no running water, a rainwater toilet and a single lightbulb and tea urn running off a generator. It's going to take some transforming, that's for sure!

Taking along a notebook, camera, tape measure and a whole heap of imagination. Wish us luck!

Lol that's before we do the rings obvs! I know it won't be very long I'm just conscious any pics taken at that point I'm gonna look really hunched and lost! 10 weeks to go!!!

thefuture:Mrs_Hurren - I'm buying confetti, but only because the wedding venue's in a nature reserve and we can only have real petals.

Appy89 - Think I'm in the same boat as you with decorations. Having visited the venue on Monday, it's clear we're going to have to invest in lots of stuff to fill the space. If you find any places with pretty pastel bunting or similar, let me know :) I think I've exhausted our local H0bbycraft.

Just wondering, have any of you booked appointments for your pre-wedding hair dye/cuts/manicures already?

Hey ladies We have finally just given notice :). It when well we have got to think a bit more about the music bit, we know what we are walking in and out too it's just bits like as people arrive and singing the register. Is it just me or have you ladies found it a complete rip off! We were completely shocked at the price lol! We knew it was going to be £524 for the registrar but no one told us we had to pay £35 each to give notice and pay £4 for the certificate! We didn't budget for that bit lol! Oh well it's not gone too over budget, I just hate how expensive it all is :(.
