Will obviously have a veggie option for main and starter if we go for the duck balls-but we aren't giving people a choice as that costs £2 extra per dish per head so really adds up on the cost.... so whatever we chose meat eaters will have that and we'll pick a veggie option for veggies.

I don't think we'll be able to, we only get to try a dish each at the taster. We'll have to go on what we think sounds nice. To be fair the price that our venue charges for a meal you would hope that all the meals are good.

I think we'll end up going for the chicken stuffed with mozzarella as we didn't want a Sunday dinner type meal (although fiancé keeps going on about how lamb is a treat to us... I just think it can sometimes me quite fatty and to some people is quite boring) we only have two or three veggie's coming and one of them has said what she'd prefer and that was the cheaper option anyway.

Ok, just wondered. We can only pick a dish each too so have chosen a meat main and a veggie main so it's fair :) I eat veggie a lot anyway so might have a veggie day anyway. It'll only affect the main as starter and dessert won't be meaty!

The whole point of the taster session for us is to help us chose what we are going to have, if we were sure on which main we wanted we would consider trying a veggie one as well, but if there were any problems with it we would still be stuck as we then wouldn't know which option to go for.

We had the three options we were looking at and have managed to whittle it down to two to try and then decide which we are having.

Our veggie friends will be fine, we're still choosing nice options for them and we have basically chosen the evening buffet based on the fact that it's good for veggies. But what we're having as our main has become a real sticking point for us, so we really do need to try the options we're thinking of.

Have had a productive few days up in Bristol sorting wedding bits!! Cake ordered (as below but with a black ribbon) talked things over with wedding planner with instalment paid and also met with the florist to order and pay for venue flowers. I have no idea how much flowers cost! But we are having a big ceremony table spray, a pedestal, 4 pillars decorated with bunches of flowers, rose petals for the aisle, wooden heart decs down the aisle and vases with flower decorations for the outside marquee bar plus 4 thank you boxed bouquets for gifts came to £340, is that a good sort of price?

ARGH! Just when I thought I could finally sort out the invites to mount them on coloured card to finish them I discover the printers haven't even trimmed them by the 10mm I requested. Emailed them to complain and hopefully they will be able to sort it. If not then its out with my old art college tools and cut them myself. All 140 sheets for Invites/Directions/Gift Poem/RSVP. So much for sending them out next week.

On other news I contacted the Bridal shop about getting corset ties done in the same colour as the floral detailing of my dress. They contacted Alfred Angelo and they were happy to do it! Shop called this morning so before work I picked them up. VERY happy. It's a lovely dusky purple/blush colour which will add a bit more character to the dress on the day.

Oh yeah and my sister has fallen out with me, again. This time she has said she isn't coming to the wedding and I can tear up her invite (if I had it to tear up that is) Don't think she expected my reaction of saying. "Your choice, I'll give the place to someone else and it will now be the second wedding in our immediate family you'll be missing so you're on a roll".

I also saw Jupiter Ascending. Was really excited to see it but left a bit disappointed since I loved Matrix and it was the same directors. Ah well. Vikings and Walking Dead are back on so I'm happy :D

Aghh-nightmare about the invites, but good news about the dress :) It will look stunning on the day! I really wanted that dress but it looked awful on me, saying that-the dress I have chosen now is stunning and fits in more with the game of thrones theme we have subtly running through our wedding.

I think you handled your sister right, but a shame she's deciding to be like that.

Suits have now been paid off... and we changed the waistcoats again, when we paid they showed us what we'd ordered and we had silver waistcoats but I was concerned they'd look funny with my dress as it's Ivory and sort of goldy....

My sister is just one of those people you don't try fighting because it just disolves into pettiness that I cannot abide.

Just had a look at your pics and the dresses you tried on are lovely. Which one is it you've gone for?

Yeah it's kind of like us with Alice in Wonderland. We're wanting to keep it elegant with hints around the place. Tables names are charecters with pictures in frames of them as well. Black and white table linen and a few other hints here and there.

The last one, with the straps, is definately my fav. Have you seen the Vinyl POP figures you can get? Would be a cute cake topper of Daenerys and Drogo? I have the POP of her with one of the baby dragons at home.

Does anyone else have days where you wish you hadn't started the ball rolling with booking your wedding or had maybe just ran away & got married just the 2 of you?? I am having them more & more!!

I've been worrying constantly that our venue isn't big enough but there isn't really much I can do about that now!!
We had to remove children (other than our own & nieces/nephews) from the guest list for the above reason, when I told H2B's cousin she wasn't happy as its her son's birthday that day. I am dreading giving our invites out & having them all asking are their kids invited (invites are only addressed to the adults) because I know its going to upset alot of people.

I bumped into my cousin earlier & she asked me if her OH is invited to our wedding, I was put on the spot & said of course!!! She has been with him a year but I don't have a clue who he is!! Meaning squeezing another person in now.

H2B keeps telling me to just invite everyone but how would that work if there's not enough seating!! He also said not to bother with a seating plan as it was stressing us out, he had a point saying if it was just a party I wouldn't even be thinking about having enough room/seats/seating plan.

Is it too late to cancel lol!!

    Firstly... deep breaths.

Had a few these moments myself, especially after a recent fall out with my sister. I feel its increcibly rude to ask if someone is invited. They will find out when they receive the invite otherwise it's just bad form and if the OH isn't, there is obviously a reason for this. Such as you have no idea who this person is! It's also inevitable that the wedding date may fall on someones Birthday but this is not something you should worry about. In regards to the seating plan it will come together so don't fret. I was worried with mine but in advance of sending out invites I've already had a few cancellations which kinda help.

Secondly... Take a day off. Now and then just don't even talk about wedding stuff and just turn off phones, FB, tinternetz and just go for a nice walk (if you have a dog even better) with the OH and relax. I find doing this often helps you clear your head and gives you a fresh restart.

Mrsrobson I've had moments like that too, I think until you have to plan a wedding you don't realise about how much stress it can cause at times.

I have a meeting with my venue straight from work tomorrow, need to pay some money off and I have a lust of things I need to ask. However I'm sure she is going to think I'm stupid as some of the ?s are so basic lol

I ordered mine in January it was supposed to be April time if would be ready but because it is the new 2015 style they had made additional ones in all sizes and I was the first person to order so I'm getting it sooner! I'm not getting alterations done until 10 weeks before the wedding though.

Also I was staying at my venue the night before the wedding and I asked about moving my clothes etc from my standard room
To the honeymoon suite and she has given me a free upgrade so I get the honeymoon suite both nights :) x

Thank you for your replies, I took my dad to view the venue yesterday & he loved it, for me personally seeing it again has made me remember why we booked it :)

Everyone that has seen the hall has said its definitely big enough so I've been told to stop worrying lol, they also said not to bother with the seating plan as people soon move seats anyway & as were not having a sit down meal it doesn't need to be as formal.

So I'm going to relax & start enjoying the planning again!! I have been asked by quite a few family members when I'm giving our invites out, my plan was for end April with RSVP of 8th June (2 months prior to the wedding) but their saying I should be thinking of getting them out sooner. I can understand giving them out to my family earlier as they need to book hotels but H2B's family are all local.

Oh I forgot to mention that we got loads of wedding stuff done last week in my visit to Bristol, florist all booked in and paid for, cake ordered, tiara purchased, bridesmaid dresses ordered and went to try the sample dress on again
Then got a call a day after we came back to say my dress had just arrived in the store! Couldn't believe the timing! So now I've got to find a date I can go back up and try my actual dress on and pay the remainder!

So p'd off I went to collect mine and my 2 bridesmaid dresses today and have only came home with one!

The one bridesmaid dress looked like it had a bit of fluff on it and when we wiped it it laddered right down the front and my dress had a mark on the back (tiny but I wanted it perfect) and a blob of glue?!? On the bottom of the train. They hadn't checked them when they arrived and that annoyed me as the shop is about 1 hour 20 min drive from where I live.

I originally wanted it up with volume like the first picture, but after we went to the wedding show I have this amazing clip in hair piece that makes my hair look all lovely and long and flicky! Hello ladies.

I have had a bit of a break from planning as I have had a massive project on at work which is about to finish and make my work life soooo much easier.
We are back into full swing now having just booked our cake and car. The ice cream tricycle for the drinks reception will be decided on and booked this week. We met a really nice DJ today at a weding fair we happened to hear about last minute so will be looking at booking him soon too.
MIL has her outfit sorted and my mum is going shopping with my sister at the end of the month to hopefully get hers.
I keep asking h2b to book an appointment for suits but he hasn't done it yet. I want home to do it now as he plays golf and in the summer his weekends are either golf or work or both so he won't want to do it then.

I took H2b to church this morning for the first time to meet the new vicar and that went well, although they are changing the rules for weddings where either one of the bride or groom does not have English citenzenship so that will mean more paperwork for me.
Stud vicar read the banns for another couple today but they weren't there and everyone assumed it was us so we got a few question at the end. Everyone was really friendly though so that was nice.

spruced - I love that first hair style, I thought about something like that for myself but I am not sure if I will get annoyed with it on the back of my neck.

Good to hear how everyone's planning is going, hope no one has hit any major snags.

Has anyone booked their DJ or band? How much did you pay?

One of H2B's groomsmen visited from Tenerife yesterday, he tried his suit & shoes on, suit fitted perfectly but his shoes are to small!! They are sold out online so I've emailed head office to see if they can track a pair down instore for me (fingers crossed).

Also our friend works at the hotel I've booked to get ready in & spend our wedding night, he offered to adjust our booking with a 25% discount. Luckily he checked as they have mucked up our booking, we didn't even have a room for our wedding night, which would have been a disaster!! He has luckily managed to book us a four poster suite free of charge for the wedding night, we also have the same room for us girls to get ready in plus another room both with the 25% off, so it worked out in the end :)

Sprucey both hairstyles are stunning, have you had a trial yet?
I can't decide between up or down so my hairdresser has said she'll try both at my trial, she has even offered to stay with me on the day if I like both styles, for a change of style. So that I can have it one way for the ceremony & another for the reception :)

Oh seems everyone's going great guns with plans!
Kimberly our do is included in the package does all their events, I've read good review on them where the do is mentioned so that's good but I do kind of wish we could pick our own dj and feel better if I'd met him! We've not ordered suits yet but we are hiring, I keep checking our dates still available though lol!
Mrs robson hope you find your shoes, are they from somewhere that has a lot of stores? If so I'm sure you'll be able to find a pair. I'm not really fussed on the men's shoes they can do what they like unless they're crocs! Lol great news on the accommodation fronts! Good job you got it all checked!
Oh wow lucky you! I'd love a little hair change! Lol up for the ceremony more formal and then down for the reception, now you're giving me ideas!..

There from D3benh@ms, so hopefully they can track a pair down.
Yes were extremely lucky he checked the booking, it has put me off booking with them again though as its the 2nd time they have messed up our booking. Admittedly I did change rooms from a standard to a deluxe room but surely that would have been a straight switch over, clearly not!!

It's nice when you get a little something for free. I nearly hugged our coordinator when she said we could use the honeymoon suite for free the night before the wedding :)

Sprucey I had your middle pic as my hair trial as I loved the hair style it lasted well but just felt it wasn't me in the end, i feel like im over thinking my hair do I still want to look and feel like me but also want to look and feel special, I'm not a hair up person as I feel my head looks big lol.
