Wedding Forum - August 2015 Brides unite ;)...

Well ladies I've (finally) ordered my dress! It's due in to store around the end of March going off the books estimated delivery times :D Was very impressed with myself when I got measured, I've lost another 3/4 of an inch from bust and hips and 3 inches off my waist! Started back on classes as well, starting Aqua on Friday evening and looking forward to it!

Other than that, a lot of the wedding stuff has taken a back seat due to Christmas, but soon be back on the wedding-train and stressing come new year that it'll be here before we know it!

Yay my sister has just rang me to say shes ordered my wedding shoes so when i visit next weekend i can have them..all tho the company only had size 7 1/2 (im normally an 8) so fingers crossed they fit. then i can pick up my dress and take it to the seamstress. i cant wait

Hmmm, what about looking at alternative options like tea lengths or something if the 'norm' isn't impressing you? Try going round the wedding fairs again? They are all starting up again now so you could catch the new collections! x

My problem is that I worry too much about stupid little things, when I try dresses on im like have i got back fat, bum looks big, too revealing, hips look odd. Im so critical of myself even though my friends have been amazing and gave me honest opinions. Ive just booked to go back to the place I went to in Oct to try more dresses and the 2 faves from that day. this time ill have my moh,bridesmaid and future mil with me. So hopefully by the end of that day ill have ordered my dress.

Yes a few places have been quite sharp but the place I'm going to in jan have said it gives me plenty of time to get a dress and will allow plenty of alteration time if needs be.

I really need to think about shoes soon. I'm going to need a wedge shoe. Can't do heels. Just don't know where to look.

I want to get she's soon know exactly what I want just don't want to pay £70 for them. Hopefully they will reduce a lot in sales

Its going to be an exciting year of planning. i cant wait. my wedding ring should be here next week, the venue sent my invites out 2 days ago which i am alittle anoyed about as i asked for them to be posted on 5th january. i am being swampd with replies and confusion as half the invites didnt have the date printed on them..i hadnt noticed thank god for facebook. i sent round a quick message so hopefully thats sorted now. ill have to go back to my list to see whats next for me to do

It suddenly feels very real... Invites in 3 months, dresses next month and April and I guess at some point we will have to sort bridesmaids dresses although we can't do that until our MOH gives birth next month!! X

Booked a band! At last! So excited! They come highly recommended and we are going to see them at a public gig in February. So glad I didn't have to resort to using an agency function band. Yaya!

Suit shopping was a success, oh now knows what he wants and we also tried on wedding rings and are going to go back and order them tomorrow.

Feels like we are getting somewhere now x

There seems to have been a lull on wedding planning for us, which is probably not a bad thing as most things are sorted.... the only thing I'm slightly worried about getting in time now is the bridesmaid dresses, but we still have time.

Need to start focusing on my uni work for Jan, it's a busy month, so get my assessments done, I'm going to see slipknot in a couple of weeks too, hopefully get the bridesmaid dresses ordered in Jan as well.


Then in Feb I'll have a look at what else needs sorting for both uni and the wedding and draw up a timeline of when things need to be done by.



We had some fantastic news on my fiancé's ring though. Some of you may remember he was given his Dad's old ring but it was too big, the lady from sm----ch said that it could not be resized because of the pattern on it, we were all disappointed but started looking at other rings. We took it in to sell, as his mum said it's silly hanging onto it when it's too small for his dad and too big for him or his brothers, she said we could put the money towards a wedding ring for him. Anyway took it in to see what we could get for it and explained the situation and he said he doesn't see why it couldn't be taken down the two sizes it needs. So we've left it with him and he's going to get back to us, but he see's no reason why it can't be done :)
makes me feel a lot less guilty about telling them we're not ordering but still want the free gifts as that's two things she failed to mention about his ring (about the fact that his ring could be resized and also she didn't mention that the ring he was looking at getting from them would not be able to be resized)

I like the brushed effect bands for men, my oh was looking at them when he thought that he couldn't have his dads one resized.

Ahhhhhhhh 231 days to go and I've not done anything for ages!! Bloody Christmas took over! Feel like I really need to get on it! But don't have the funds to do so for a couple of weeks!

My still to do list... Book in hair & make up, already got the lady ready to go just needs need funds, book in venue dressers & sweetie cart hire, again just need guns, find wedding rings, find bridesmaid dresses an flower girl dress, book in flowers to be made, flowers to dress venue, order suit hire, grooms shoes, find tiara, order invites.. And probably a tonne of other stuff I've forgotten!!

My job for this evening is to pull together all the details we want on the invites and give them to our invite design/print lady! I'm so excited! I thought we wouldn't have to do this for another few weeks but she has asked for it now! Excited! It is all real!

Get remeasured for my wedding dress 23rd July then it will be here 12 weeks later :)

Going to male the appts to give notice in June (8 weeks before which is norm in Scotland)

Also need to male appt to see cake last to finalise design and flavours.

Hopefully organising kilts on 17th

I haven't got my bridesmaid dresses yet either, one of them has said about leaving it until March to order... if we do it will be early March otherwise I'll be panicking that they won't be here in time. I'm concerned about not ordering them right now as it is to be honest

I haven't either Mrs hurren, need to get my bum in gear.

Clair my bridesmaids are in Wales and bristol and I'm in kent so it's tricky to go in a shopping trip! Lol but we are all going to the London wedding show in February with my mum so hopefully it will cross a few things off the list and if we don't get the dresses there we can at least confirm deffo what we are looking for. There's a shop in the shopping centre where I work that does bridesmaid dresses so I known can get what I want there idiot find it elsewhere and they're fairly cheap do all colours etc. trouble is one bridesmaid is trying for her last baby and the other is slightly larger looking to loose weight so don't want lots of alterations so I think I need something floaty!

I don't know what to do regarding them.... I don't know why but it's something I've been dragging my feet on :/ I hate talking to hairdressers at the best of times.

Will they want to know what I want straight away or let me book them and decide closer to the time?

Agree with Catherine, id book a hairdresser and make up artist sooner than later and go for trials.
