I understand, it was just a thought though.. I'd suggest going to church when said vicar is presiding and speaking to him afterwards because you are going to get way more out of that than the other lady because ultimately, he is going to have the final yes or no on this, not her.. If the mountain wouldn't come to Mohammed ;)

i went to a church wedding 2 years ago and that was in the afternoon after the service we were out the front throwing the confetti and the photographer was getting pictures etc when the other wedding that was on after starting to arrive, like loads of people and they were hovering around and making everyone feel quite uncomfortable with the looks we were getting as if to say its your time to go now, so maybe if you get the earlier one make sure you speak to the vicar and say you don't want this happening, the two wedding party overlapping

No worries Kimberley :) good idea on going to church... By going, you show you are committed/this is important to you both/better couple etc etc!

bride2B28 - this is exactly what I meant. It just doesn't look good or feel any better seeing other randomers loitering because they are waiting for you to leave! You don't want to feel pushed out of your own wedding :( x

    Hey everyone.

    ITS ALL SORTED NOW!

H2b had a phone call this morning from church lady. She basically said that we had first choice and the times available were 12.30 and 2. It sounds like she has spoken to the vicar.
H2b opted for 12.30, which is fine. I would have taken 2pm but am happy with his choice.
She was going to call the other couple and explain that as we got in first we have chosen first and they can have the other time or choose another day

I do understand what you are saying about having guests arriving at the end of ours. I am not too worried about that, with the layout of the church and grounds, I don't think it will be a massive problem

Now to look at save the dates! I feel like a huge weight has been lifted from my shoulders.

Thanks for all your comments over the past few days.

Yeah the planning is in full swing today.
I booked my hair dresser today. £60 for bride and £25 for bridesmaids. Best price I have found and is the senior stylist from the salon I use anyway so am quite happy with that.

First company coming to us with wedding rings on Monday night and a second company on the 29th.

Now need to make appointments for cars, suits, flowers and bridesmaids. Just need to tie h2b down for dates he is not working or playing golf!

On the subject of hair and make up, what sort of timescales does it work in? As in how far in advance are you having your trials? And what happens if you don't like? Do you hope to find someone else? I've found a lady I really love that works near our venue and her work on her site and fb page I love and she works with her daughter so they do hair and make up together. But just wonder do you bookin for a trial an that books your date? Then when's best to have a trial, as I need veil etc with me I guess?

My hairdresser said to have the initial consultation 2 months before the wedding so there is plenty of time to adjust or completely change it if you don't like it, so I am going with that.

I have booked a trial for december as i have a christmas night out and wanted to see how long the do will last, thought if im paying for the trial i may as well make full use of it, the hairdresser said she would do it then change it slightly so its not actually the same as my wedding hair so its kept a secret for my big day. if i like it that night then its sorted if for some reason i dont ill book another trial in probably a month before the wedding with my dress to see it all goes together.

Myself & H2B went to our friends wedding on Saturday it was such a lovely day, there ceremony was at 3pm ours is at 4pm so it gave us a rough idea of how the day would run.
They had a few problems on the day, the buttonholes were wrong but they made do & worst of all the mobile bar let them down!! Luckily there was a shop across the road so everyone popped over to get some booze, which worked out a lot cheaper but I got so drunk as I wasn't having proper measurements of dissarono, oops.
The bridesmaids & brides dresses were china dresses (company has "light" in there name) & honestly if she hadn't of told me I'd never have guessed, they all looked amazing, think I'm definately going down this route.
My h2b hadn't stopped moaning that I had wasted £400 on a photobooth but after seeing how much fun everyone had in there's he has now changed his mind & suddenly thinks it's a great idea, men eh!!

Hey everyone! Been ages since I have been online and so much has happened!

My MOH #2 got engaged!!! So happy for her and we have been talking about her wedding a lot now. I'm not one of the BMs as she will be keeping her simple with her sister and best friend but that's great for me because I can relax. She has asked me to do her save a dates and invites though which is awesome! So we have been going through ideas for that so it appears in 2016 I will have my brothers and then good friends wedding to go to :-D

Next thing is we booked th videographer!!! The OH caved and it's all sorted now so excited about that as well. I think what did it was my MOH #2s friends who got married earlier this year said they regretted not having one. NOw we need to source DJs and dance floor hire :-/

What have you already got ticked off your list ladies? I'm a bit stuck what to do next. Can't order bridesmaid dresses as one of my maids might be preggo next year so were waiting til feb March time for those. Oh has a marathon next year so can't put in the hire suit measurements for hire! So far venues book, registrars booked, booked to give notice, save the dates done ready to go out, dress ordered, bouncy castle booked, decided on m&s cake so don't need to order til next year, hair and make up lady decided on and is free just need to book in a trial for next year. What else an I do now? Without it being to early for stuff? What have you guys got done?

We've booked & have actually paid in full the following (except church as they would only allow deposit for now)
    Church
    Reception venue
    2 Rolls royce's
Flowers (bouquets, buttonholes & thankyou bouquets)
    Centrepieces
    Photographer
Save the dates (which I still haven't sent out.....oops)
    DJ
    Venue dresser
    Rings
    Invites
    Photobooth
    Cake
    Food
    Jars for sweet table
We've also started buying some booze as our venue has the option of self serve from the time we arrive (5pm ish) until the bar opens at 7, or if we'd prefer they will open the bar earlier.

    Need to sort out ASAP:
    MY DRESS!!!

Everything else can wait until after xmas

Oh well done how did you get her to cave?!

Mrsk2b can you try them on with your dress will that help decide? I think the Ivory looks softer but if the other colour matches your theme I'd go with that

Wow you girls are organised! I think because I've quite a few bit already included in my package then it helps out, food, drinks, dj etc already sorted. I keep looking into centrepieces but I don't know how any tables I'll have yet depends how many rsvp. Photographer my dads sorting, my mums already sorted her outfit! I don't need any transport. I guess I could do rings an stuff but feel like there must be something else more important needed sooner!

    Hi all,

I'm really struggling to find a dress. Everyone says Ill know when Ive found the one but I'm not a dress person, I've found three dresses all of which I love but the issue I have is that I feel so paranoid prancing around in dress shops, being the center of attention when I'm not confident anyway that I'm struggling.

I'm starting to worry now that because everyone says i have a "wow" moment that I've still not found the one even though I love 3 of the 12 that I have tried on.

    Help :(

Im the same MrsHurren, I'm not a dress person at all, I felt so awkward in all the dresses with everyone staring at me. I don't think it helped that my bridesmaids & mum kept telling me I looked good in every dress & my mum constantly saying "that's the one"!! I mean I tried 2 ball gown dresses & they made me look huge but according to them I looked fab & they couldn't understand what I was seeing.
I've asked H2B's other sister to come next time as she will be honest with me, which is what I want/need. She actually got upset a few weeks back because she was feeling excluded from the planning, I had asked her to be our bridesmaid but she said no (which is fine) as she thought we had a big enough financial strain with everything else, but she said just because she isn't our bridesmaid doesn't mean she doesn't want to be involved.
I really need to make some more appointments as I've only been to 1 shop, I'll have to book for November as I have no spare time until then.

I went and got my dress on my own as my 2 friends were having fall outs and my family dont live near. i knid of wish i had had someone else with me (other than my 3 year old and 5 year old) to give a second opinion as of course the bridal shop just agreed with what i said as they just wanted a sale. I love my dress and knew it was the one but still get a niggly feeling now (apparently its normal) im not normally a dress person but i just want to try mine on again for a second look

Personally I would say the 1st as it gives you the best overall shape and you are smiling a lot which always helps :) in my opinion, the other two don't suit you and pull you in in the wrong places making you look a bit dumpy (no offence intended at all). The first makes you look so beautiful :) x
