I've been picking up things for the kids activity boxes and I think I'm finished except for the activity book that I will order after Christmas when hopefully they will be a bit cheaper :-)

Just about to go through all the wedding bits now to see what I've got and still need to get :-)

i was making some decorations the other day, my h2b walking in from work at 11pm just looked at me and said 'ill leave you to i im going for a drink' ha ha i really dont think hes going to be hands on at this wedding. all tho he did take me on a 60 mile rou nd trip to get a wooden crate i wanted for the wedding cards :) and treated me to dinner.

my fil is sorting and paying for the church as he will be marrying us but because of this when ever i check my list of things i feel like somethings missing. Im the kind of person that gets things done straigh away so hope he doesnt forget anything. he did tell me the banns cant be done till 3 months before the date so ive gotta wait till may/june which seems ages away

Starting to get a bit overwhelmed with all the organising to be done :( we have loads of time but there's so many little bits to think about! We've not had a proper budget as we always knew we'd have plenty, but finally sat down and estimated costs for everything. For thinking it would be a relatively cheap wedding its coming to £9000!! Everything has been rounded up but still it seems to have escalated when we weren't looking, and though we can afford it, it still seems a huge amount of money. Just starting to feel anxious most of the time :(

    Hi everyone.
Finally the one year to go point has arrived. I am quite excited by that fact but h2b is not so.
Am currently in discussions with bridesmaids about dresses for them.

No further forward with anything else yet although I would like to get invites sorted soon for the nz crew so they have plenty of time to sort flights etc

Thinking I might skip STD all together. I was not going to do them for the kiwis anyway but now not really sure about doing them at all- just going straight to invite so we have plenty of time to sort numbers. What is everyone else doing?

Fitchmccombe- I know how you feel, suddenly has this feeling today that there wasn't enough time left to do everything. I know there is but just need to get a move on!

yeah we had a tight budget of £2000 and now thats gone up to £3000 with out me realising i daren't tell the other half as we both agreed we were not gonna spend loads as we still have out life to get on with and to spend loads would be a waste. we havent even looked at honeymoons yet as i said we will look at money after the wedding. im not working so everything is coming out of h2b's wages at the moment.

I think it is helpful to set a budget to start with as i can imagine alot of us have come across the increasing budget :(

    Hi Girls,

Feeling rather stressed and not in the wedding mood at all. Im really struggling atm.

Since May ive lost 3 relatives my Nan, aunty and someone who is ike a 2nd Dad to me. Plus 2 of my 3 dogs have died and 10 weeks ago my Dad had a major brain aneurysm and we nearly have lost him twice. He is still in hospital he can talk and has movement but as his brain has been affected he cant focus on tasks and is unable to stand/walk. I had to take a couple of weeks off work unpaid when this happened and as we were working to a tight budget this is now over stretched. I feel overwhelmed and I know i need to do things but I cant motivate myself.

I need to sort my dress, hair and make up. my bridesmaids, page boys, the groom and best man suits, shoes, invites, rings ...thats just what i can think of.

I know its just under 11 months to go but if my dad is unable to stand which is looking likley atm he wont be able to attend my wedding and if he cant be there i dont want it to go ahead. i know that may seem selfish but thats how i feel. i feel so upset.

    x

Evening everyone :) been busy the last couple of days. Had a cake tasting yesterday which was a lot of fun so finally have a decision made on exactly what flavours we want and looking into booking an appointment to see both dresses I really like on the same day so I can finally make a decision on what I will wear for the wedding. Exciting days :D

Met up with an old friend last night from a job I left over 2 years ago for a catch up and gossip. Got talking about the wedding and turns out her dad is in a well known funk and soul band and has played at the hammersmith Apollo and with pee wee Ellis (saxophone player for James Brown). They do lots of weddings and she says they will probably let me sing on a song if I want to! Iv been having a battle with the band I originally wanted as they were being really flakey and then changed their mind about costs and packages so I was a bit disgruntled.
So watch this space for band confirmation!

Come payday, we will be getting the black invites to make, and card for confetti cones. I'm also waiting on my cool glue gun to come to start playing with paper flower making. :) x

Appointment booked for seeing both the wedding dresses on Saturday with MOH, really looking forward to it :D I think I know which one I am going to go for but not going to say just yet. ;)

Trying to sort out a chocolate fountain for the wedding and the supplier I really like the look of is just not getting back to us so I think we've reached the point where we're going to go with someone else.

OH may have decided on kilt he might be wearing which could be the hebridean thistle to go with a grey jacket and waistcoat. Just need to organise a visit to a kilt shop to see how it looks on him

Yay nice that you have a date so that you know when your going April :)

I'm getting measured for my dress in October and the diet hasn't gone to plan.... I think part of the problem is although I know I look better a little bit slimmer, I'm happy how I am, it's just my tummy that bothers me, but that always bothers me lol.... maybe next year my diet will really kick start as I'll panic realising that the wedding is in that year.

I keep moaning at h2b to have more input in the day as previously he's always said 'I'm happy with whatever you want' fast forward to today & he came home with £70 worth of led candles!!
I have already got led tea lights for our centrepieces but he saw these ones today & decided they are so much nicer & more realistic.
I don't know wether to be angry that he's wasted £70 on unnecessary items or happy that he finally got involved in the planning lol

April I took them all out of the packets so couldn't return them, its ok though I'm sure ill find a use for them. To be honest the ones he picked up are so much better, they look like real candles with wax dripping down the sides & I'm glad he finally got involved.
He also picked up some bigger matching candles for our top table, were going to pick up some more of these as we didn't want the bird cages on there.

Congrats and welcome to the August 2015-er's! Sounds like your planning is going well? :)

We are very pleased today as we've found a very good, local florist to do the flowers for our wedding at a reasonable price, highly recommended from my Grandma too which helps! We even got more than we thought included for the money we had available - Mine, Debbie's and the bm's bouquets, buttonholes for the boys and mum's, thank you bouquets and even things like flowers on combs/vines and church flowers etc should we want to, all for just over £300 so it's been a successful day! Here's some pictures too of what we've got sorted...

Gorgeous colours Catherine. I love love love yellow and it goes so well with the pinks. (I think I would have had pinks as well if my fiancé would let me, but he's really not a pink guy... I'm surprised I got him to agree to purple as he was always very against that as well lol, but he seems very happy with our choices now)

We were going to make our own invites... and still think we will make the evening invites as we ended up buying some card to make the invites with, but we have looked on vi$ta after the talk about it on here and have figured out we could have the day invites sorted for less than £20 which is fab (would be more expensive for evenings as we're inviting a lot more single people and just more people in general as well) only question we have now is.... is it too early to just say stuff it and buy them now? I think we want to send them out probably about Feb time as our venue wants to know numbers by 2 months before, so if we send them out feb we can ask for R.S.V.P's for mid-May? does that time frame sound right? Also back to the invites should we buy them now to save for when we want to send them out or should we wait and risk them not having the same offers on as what they have now?

I'd buy the invites now especially if they are on offer.
As for your time frame for sending invites I think that's ok it's very similar to ours I'm sending them out feb/march for RSVP by May this gives us time for any declines to be filled by other guests x

Well, we've decided against ordering now as the sale ends today and we don't want to rush into ordering them and get the wording wrong or something silly. I'm sure they'll have another sale in the next 6 months, if not before surely they'll have one in January. Spoke to my bridemaids about it and they think I should send them out in Feb with end of April R.S.V.P so I have plenty of time to chase anyone up who' a pain.

Wow-that's very expensive, I thought our band were expensive at a couple of hundred over 1 grand, but we have paid for lots of extra's (like a 5 piece instead of a 3 piece, dj service and for them to play later)

    wow, that's a lot for a band!

Saying that, it depends on the size of the band. We have a singer coming to ours (used to be part of a duo), who will also be our DJ for the evening. For 3.5 hours singing and the rest of the evening as DJ (til 1230) we are paying £450ish. Although he has agreed to learn an acoustic version of our first dance if it is necessary, which includes having a backing band to record the music and then learning the song too.

    Eeeeekkk, it' so exciting! x

They are a professional 9 piece funk-soul band, so can't say I'm too surprised really, was just kidding myself we would be able to afford it. Speaking to a band I have sung with before now, they have quoted me 700 which is better :)
