Just made these 5 today, and hanging them from kitchen window to stop them getting crushed somewhere else in the house. Not the best pics and they won't be arranged this way on the day, lol, but what do you think? Took me 45 mins each one and hoping they don't look rubbish! xx

Thanks girls! Katie, I looked up how to make them on google. I used 20" x 30" tissue paper, fold it up like a concertina, secure it in the middle with floristy wire, then used monofilament wire similar to what is used for fishing rod line and then gently fold each layer out. Oh and I just used scissors to shape the ends before seperating the layers. Only another 10 or so to make but will have to wait til the marquee is up, as I have nowhere else to hang them, lol. :) x

I would love to get all these done and out the way as I don't know if I will have time or patience to spend 45 mins per pom-pom a few days before the wedding! Might have to get an extendable curtain pole and put it somewhere in the house away from windows, as still have maybe 5 more big ones to make and then some smaller ones. x

If they were smaller they could, but they are actually quite big ones and the weight would just crush all the bottom. Just wondering if an extendable pole could take the weight of 6 of them if I put it in the bottom store cupboard. x

do you have a fairly empty wardrobe (or could you clear one out a bit) and then hang them on the rail inside the wardrobe? away from light, humidity and dust then :)

Sure I can make some for a small fee, lol. I would say for 30 sheets of this tissue paper it costs about £4, then a pack of floristry wire is cheap enough at about £1 and £2 for a massive roll of monofilament wire. So pretty cheap to make really. I can get 3 large pom-poms out of the 20" x 30" tissue paper I have. xx

The ones I have made have monofilament wire, similar to what they use for fishing rod lines. I like the fact that they seem to float. But you could use ribbon, a garland of beads etc. And yes you could put them anywhere, lol, I tried hanging small ones from the backs of my chairs but decided against it as they would just have got ripped by all the little hands attached to the little people we have coming, lol. x

Just to add you can use 2 different colours in the pom-poms if you want to go for a football themed party, like black and white for Newcastle United etc. Saw some pretty butterfly print tissue paper too somewhere which would look nice. x
