My personal favourites are the butterfly ones; like Sonya I've always loved those. My advice though would be to go with whichever pair you would be most likely to wear again: ivory shoes are easy to dye, so you could easily have them dyed and wear them again after, which would be nice as they're beautiful shoes and don't come cheap, so it seems a shame not to get your wear out of them!

Re colour, in your position I would either ask them if I could wait until I had my dress before making my final choice, or else ask them if they could dye them (like Sonya said it doesn't hurt to ask; the worst they can say is 'No, sorry'); if neither is an option, I would go with whichever style I preferred and then if the colour didn't work with my dress, I'd have them dyed; lots of places do it, and this is what my mum will be doing as she couldn't find shoes or a bag in a suitable colour. She's paying £30 per item and will be using a company called My C0L0ur 5tud10. You basically said off for a pack, selected a colour from a choice of 40 or include a fabric swatch, pop the shoes in the pre-paid bag provided, and send them off, and it takes a couple of weeks.

Thanks for the compliments on the invite! It is still work in progress but we do need to finish it soon!! I want to get them printed before my mom visits from the states! That way I can give them to her to send to my US relatives and save a bunch on postage lol


Anyone know where to get some really nice gold lined envelopes?

I can't find any that I like... I think I have been spoiled by the professionally printed invites and envelopes I have received over the years. I am just going to need to put that aside. I would just like to find a nice textured envelope and perhaps we can line it or add a little something something!?

Today we officially booked our DJ!!!! I've been a bit stressed about this because no one I knew could recommend a DJ so I was having to do some massive google research! After a month of talking with a few people, we have gone with Wedding Smashers. I don't know if anyone will have heard of them...they are London based club DJs who do weddings as well.

This is the first non-UKbride prize (venue/catering aside) that we have booked! Feeling reallllly excited! Though I wonder if that excitement will die down once we pay their massive fee!? lol

Woah thats alot for a dj, im paying just over £1000 for a 5 piece band, including dj. suppose thats london for you.

OOOOOOOO MA GOSH. So excited right now. My mom and sister are flying over from NYC to come for a visit and we will be heading up to Eternity Bridal to pick out my dress!!!! I'm so insanely excited to see them, pick out my dress, and see them some more. Will def post some details on my dress. Though not sure if I should post toooo many. Don't want any family reading the blog to know what I'll be wearing!

We also had our engagement party last weekend. It was amazing. So happy and full of love. I don't think I stopped smiling for 5 mins! Pics attached!

AHHH!!! Got my first official RSVP!!! SOOOO exciting.

I am definitely in wedding obsession mode. I have been driving my fiancé slightly insane. I keep looking at etsy and ebay for new cute little shabby chic things to use...i put a billion things in my cart but am def not actually buying them as we are trying to keep on track with the budget. But my brain just wants to do wedding related shopping.

I absolutely love Et$y - have saved soo many things on there, not that I intend to actually buy half of the things I have saved but it's just such good inspiration!! x

Sounds lovely. I'm an August birthday too.

Well we had to delay our spa break because I got pretty sick last week but I had some major things happening at work (had to do some forward planning for domestic violence campaigns for the next year) Very intense week making up things I missed in the office!

BUUUT we are going on Sunday!!! cannot wait!!!! Ry and I really really need some time relaxing together! We are going to take a trip to the bookstore to stock up and we are going to use the 4 days to kick start our 'get healthy before the wedding' campaign. (we have started this campaign about 30 times lol) but hopefully this time it will stick!!

Will def tell everyone about it and maybe even take a cheeky picture or two!! Champneys Tring here we come!
