Winter Wedding Tips

Full sleeved frocks are bang on trend for 2017. Laced vintage style sleeves are a particularly popular style at the moment. Complement your wedding dress with a fabulous white fur wrap or a feathered bolero. Or, if you really feel the cold why not make a bold statement with a bright red winter coat, or a contrasting velvet jacket?

When choosing your wedding shoes, opt for something enclosed; peep toes won’t cut it in the snow! Alternatively, if you’re not brave enough to sport heels in frosty conditions, there are some beautiful wedding boots on the market which are both practical and elegant.

Draping yourself in diamonds will ensure you sparkle and shine on your big day. Think delicate tiaras and cascading earrings.

And don’t forget your bridesmaids. Fur muffs are a fantastic accessory. Not only will they keep your bridesmaids' hands warm, they will also work really well with the winter wonderland theme.

Whatever you choose, a winter wedding is a fantastic opportunity to experiment with luxurious fabrics such as white velvet and faux fur. Sparkling jewels, silvers and gold really complement this theme too.

When organising a winter wedding remember to pick your venue carefully; try not to choose a room with too many windows, as a drafty room will make for unhappy guests! Check that the venue will have adequate heating, as no-one can predict winter temperatures.

An ideal winter wedding venue will feature roaring open fires and seasonal decorations. Celebrate the festive period with floral arrangements made up of reds and greens, or in-season flowers such as tulips or roses. Pillar candles, and twinkling lights are also lovely, and silver, gold, and white are perfect colour schemes to complement your winter wedding ideas.

Greet your guests with a warming drink when they arrive, such as mulled wine or hot chocolate, and provide blankets in accordance with your colour theme; it's a special touch that will be appreciated by your guests on a cold day!

Remember, a winter wedding can be charming and elegant, despite the risk of freezing temperatures and snowy conditions. Embrace the wintry theme and enjoy your day whatever the weather!
