Wedding Entertainment Competition Prize Winner
It's certainly proving to be a happy new year for the latest UKbride Power User competition prize winner! Katrina Ketteringham and fiancé Lawrence Falconer will enjoy a two hour live music performance at their wedding reception thanks to UKbride and professional musicians A Box Full of Sparks!
UKbride members Katrina and Lawrence will be dancing to their own tune when they marry in June next year, thanks to this month's Power User prize, of a two hour live music performance, in association with A Box Full of Sparks. The Southport-based group of full time, professional musicians are a superb act for weddings and other occasions, playing their own music and writing their own backing tracks to create a two-hour live performance of songs from the 60s right through to the noughties.
The couple, who are based in Cheshire, met in the seaside town of Margate 13 years ago, when Katrina was working in the family's café, and Lawrence was working as an engineer, creating radiation shields for medical equipment like scanners. A flirty Lawrence popped in for a cuppa but quickly won Katrina over with his cheeky charm... and it wasn't long before the couple moved to Cheshire, where they'll marry next year.
"He popped the question about two years ago, and we've been looking at venues over the holidays. We like Craxton Wood Hotel, which suits our idea of a really fun wedding. We'd like a bouncy castle and face painters, and want to create a day that's fun for everyone, so music will be a big part of that."
The band plays everything from the Beatles and Stones to the Killers and Kings of Leon, which is perfect for the couple's eclectic tastes. Our prize is worth over £1,000, but the band usually works with budgets between £750 and £1,500, performing all over the country.
"We've created a carefully designed two-hour classic rock, pop and soul show." says the band's Kevin. "We've professional lighting and special stage effects to provide an outstanding experience. We guarantee superb musicianship, ensuring accurate reproduction of the original tracks, with all your favourite riffs, licks and harmonies."
