Emma has always been a big fan of music gigs, so when she travelled to Ireland from her home in County Durham to watch the rock band Glyder, little did she know she’d meet her future husband, her fiancé Ger!
“I’ve always enjoyed going to music gigs. I travelled to Ireland to watch Glyder, and that’s where Ger and I met. We just hit it off, he moved to County Durham and we moved in together. He proposed last year in August on his birthday.”
The couple are planning their wedding for 2016, but haven’t booked anything yet. They're busy saving as they want to pay for everything themselves for their big day.
“I’ve been looking at different wedding dresses, but haven’t bought it yet as it would be a big chunk from our wedding budget and we’re still saving. My Gran passed away last year and we were very close - she gave me £500 to put towards my wedding dress but we can save that now I've won this fantastic prize. I still can't believe it!”
