Fame... fortune... and wedding cake! Brides across the UK are being sought for a new series of the BBC's Don't Tell The Bride series... which aims to offers grooms (or brides!) the chance to plan a wedding, in secret, in just three weeks, then surprise their loved one with the shock of their lives!
Couples are given a budget of £12,000 and are being sought from all over the UK. Casting takes place from February until May, with 12 couples chosen to feature in the shows, which will be screen in Autumn. Six of the series will be filmed from the end of March with a further six filmed in July.
Additionally, the company behind the series, Renegade Productions, is also seeking couples to follow throughout their wedding planning in a warm-hearted hour long documentary, Marriage Through the Ages.
The documentary will examine how marriage has changed throughout history and its producers are seeking to cast participants by March, with filming beginning in June. Presenter Cherry Healey will follow brides during their wedding dress fitting or meet couples at home to discuss their forthcoming wedding with a view to finding out how attitudes to marriage and wedding planning itself has changed over the years... and the subject is of particular attention to Cherry herself, who is planning a wedding of her own this summer!
