One of the hardest things for a bride to bear in mind when planning the wedding day is a schedule for the wedding photographer. We've been chatting to Daryl Ridgley a wedding photographer with over 20 years experience.
"Photographers can do over 40 weddings a year, so your photographer will really appreciate a well scheduled wedding day.
"I run by a couple of motos, the first being that 'Poor planning means poor performance' and the second, 'If you fail to plan, you plan to fail' and you should too."
"Your wedding day can be like a military operation and as such is rather complex. A properly planned day means less stress, and will cater for the unexpected - which should always be expected. As an experienced Wedding Photographer I know that the photos will be so much better if the Bride is relaxed and everyone knows what's going on.
"When you're planning your wedding day," explains Daryl, "try to cater for a few factors which are outside of your control:
a) Nerves - who knows when they will strike b) The Weather - best ignored as there is nothing that can be done about it
Good planning in the areas you can control will make these factors much less significant and allow brides to have fun on their wedding day.
"When I receive an enquiry about from a couple who are interested in my photography, I like to meet and discuss their requirements, examples of my work and of course address any questions that they may have. My advice to brides would be to talk about logistics in this meeting. In formulating a plan or schedule for the day you will feel in complete control of your day.
Letting your photographer know the scales of time that you are having will ensure that your wedding photographer can be in the right place at the right time to capture those all important wedding moments.
"A good photographer will always go through these plans in detail with you a couple of days beforehand. Make sure that you both have a full understanding about the day's schedule."
